What do you think of these names for my twins?

I am expecting twins in November. We don't know if it's boy/boy, boy/girl, or girl/girl.

Our girl's list was incredibly short, but we've recently found quite a few more we like, and I'm interested in opinions. We have tended towards old/classic names which aren't overly popular for our other DC.

Nina
Tabitha
Ottilie
Juliet
Elodie
Rose/Rosalie/Rosanna
Delphine
Everly
Emma

Ottile and Delphine are beautiful together. Really dislike Juliet!

Awrite · 27/07/2019 12:07

Love, love, love Juliet. Such a beautiful name.

Agree with others - it goes well with Emma.

What about Lucy? Or Marianne?

missyB1 · 27/07/2019 12:13

Personally I prefer Daphne to Delphine. And I would add Mary to your list, classic, simple, and not too popular.

Spanneroo · 27/07/2019 12:53

Mary will be one of their middle names (family name), so we have been avoiding derivatives for first names. Otherwise I'd definitely have some of those on there. Likewise, I think Anna is a beautiful classic, but I'm a Hannah and it's too similar!

Thanks for all the lovely feedback everyone! It's really helpful to get some alternative perspective on names. I feel like there comes a point where you can't see the wood for the trees when choosing baby names!

Nina, Juliet, Emma or Elodie would be lovely. Or one of your Rose names. Have you also considered Rosa?

Ottilie is a bit marmite. Everley is bad, faddy and a surname of course.

A pity you dropped Emmeline, very pretty and more unusual than Emma.

Peachbubble · 27/07/2019 13:53

Love Tabitha, Elodie and Rosalie

Spanneroo · 27/07/2019 14:39

@Pemba I really like Emmeline but the mispronunciation issue seemed too big to ignore. Otherwise it'd be one of my favourites. I'd also hate for anyone to assume it was Emma-lynne IYSWIM. I agree it's nice than Emma, but no such issues with that one!

I love them all apart from Delphine (I keep thinking Delphine Donkey from Peppa Pig, but even without that I don’t like it) and Everly.
Is Everly really a classic and traditional name? That surprises me. I find it a bit modern.

LarkDescending · 27/07/2019 17:15

Rosanna/Rosalie and Juliet for me.

KirstyT11 · 27/07/2019 22:03

Love juliet, elodie and rosalie. But Elodie and rosalie together I'm not sure. Not sure on two 'ie' endings. I know some people try and 'match' twin names to have similar sounds etc but I dont like it personally.

I'm a twin and love it! Good luck xx

Beautiful names! I especially love:

Tabitha
Ottilie
Juliet
Rose

I think Tabitha and Juliet work really well together.

Frith2013 · 29/07/2019 00:42

Nina - ambulance siren
Tabitha - ok
Ottilie - was on my list
Juliet - no.
Elodie - ok
Rose/Rosalie/Rosanna - not Rosanna, reminds me of the vulgar American woman. Rose ok.
Delphine - nice
Everly - Brothers? It’s not a name.
Emma - dull

BackforGood · 29/07/2019 00:54

I like Emma but not keen on any of the others.

MyDcAreMarvel · 29/07/2019 01:08

Delphine very Orphan Black.

PetraRabbit · 29/07/2019 10:18

Elodie and Ottilie are very trendy so I'd avoid. In certain middle class circles they are very popular at the moment.
Everly sounds modern American to my ear, rather than old or classic.

My favourites (and I think the two least 'popular' are Nina and Delphine. I also like Juliet and Rosanna or Rosa. Rosalie is pretty but the ee ending makes it a bit more twee and trendy sounding than some of your other choices. Another name I'd suggest is Celeste which would be absolutely beautiful with Delphine- it's the kind of combination which would set your twins apart in a very stylish way.

Nina and Juliet go well together
