Which is the best and worst out of them as we can't agree and she's due September?? Thanks thought or anything would be a help or any suggestions and middle names to? Smile

@Bossbabynx5 to be honest I hated Bella and was v glad when people stopped using it! I know a couple of Sophia’s and neither get shortened to Sophie

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 11:45

@FrancisCrawford my mams middle name is marie well actually it's double barrelled so her name then -marie but she doesn't use it or anything! She doesn't even like it and neither do I it's so dated and 70s (when she was born) plus met a marie I didn't like much but again she was in her 40s haha.

Ha ha bossbaby. I probably am just old enough to be your grandma then. I think the short list should be:

Sophia
Lily
Marnie
Ella

My class 60s: Susan, Angela, Jane, Fiona, Amanda, Helen, Beverly, Lynne, Cheryl, Sally, Lizzie, Heather, Claire, Debbie, Julia, Alison.

DD's early 00's: Imogen, Rosie, Francesca, Antonia, Alice, Hannah, Elizabeth, Maddie, Edith, Christabel, Louisa, Matilda, Phoebe, Lucy

Interesting how trends change.

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 17:02

@OhTheRoses yeah but a girl I know called her baby lily and she was only born end of last year so it would be like I was copying her a little bit. and I'm not sure about sophia now. Marnie and ella defenitely tho!

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 17:05

My aunties acctually told me she wanted ella for her oldest daughter (9 now) but wasn't allowed to call her it by her baby daddy! so she ending up being Hannah.

@OhTheRoses yeah u are old enough to be my nanna then! Lol I LOVE cheryl probs not for a first name tho was planning on maybe using that as her middle name aswell as louise but that could be double barreled. Your daughters about my age haha! Yeah I remember in my primary school there was a Lucy in my year and a Hannah actually a few Hannah's by the time I was in high school, and an antonia a few years above me, aswell as a Rosie , and francesca older than me and one much younger who was my friends sister I quite like that acctually, but they just got called fran. My class was like mostly Jessicas, Chloes,Courtneys,Sophies,Leah's , Melissa, Erin, Emily, Emma, Beth/bethan/bethany, Billie, McKenna, Ellie , Jodie, Charlotte, Rebecca that was soo popular there was like 4 to name a few that girls names I can remember that were popular

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 18:00

What do yous think is a good middle name for gracie ?

OP posts:
AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 25/07/2019 19:10

I know it's not to everyone's taste, hear me out... 😬

Sapphire is the birthstone for September. Idea for a middle name?

I think Ruby is July.

My son was born in September. It's a great month to have a baby Smile

I named another one of my daughters 'Rose' as her middle name.
That's also frowned upon and considered common on here 🙈 But I think it's beautiful after any name

OhTheRoses · 25/07/2019 20:33

Christabel was one of the Pankhursts.

Saffie is nice on the Saphire theme. DD had a build a bear called Seraphina.

The DC's sm are full of Ellies Alices, Immies, Sophies, Emilys, Jessies, Tillys, Millys, Maddies, Izzies, Rose/Rosies, Floras. No idea what they'd call dc but they are still both at uni.

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 22:09

I got dolcie/dulcie from teen mom uk. One of the girls on it called her baby dulcie-mae and I had never heard of it before and thought it was lush.

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 22:10

Or maybe it was spelt like may or mai not sure

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 22:19

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet ee so funny u say that I love sapphire there was this popular programme years ago not gunna say it (see if any knows or can guess) and a girl on it was called that and I always thought her name was amaze! Duno if it's a little to bit weird tho? That's whats would put me off. And I know it's the birthstone for sept already cos that's my birthday month to. and a girl put me off rose haha I can say that about nearly every name. what's your other childrens names? I love sort of gem stone names lol. And ah well if she's ruby she's born in the wrong month then unless she wants to come early😁

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 22:20

Mind saying that I did like amber-rose I think that really goes but again some little Amber put me right off!

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 22:22

I think ruby then sapphire as a middle name would be abit to much tho?? Or would it?

katy1111 · 26/07/2019 11:30

Lola- love it
Gracie- quite like it, I knew a girl at uni with that name and it suited her
Alisia- like it but prefer the spelling Alicia
Ruby- love it
Sophia- love it but very popular now
Ella- like it
Marnie- it's ok but not massively keen
Lauren- like it but agree that it's a bit dated now
Britney- don't like it- think it's dated and just makes me think of Britney Spears
Splice- don't like it sorry, it sounds a bit wet to me.

You've got some really lovely names on your list though. As above, my faves are Lola and Ruby.

katy1111 · 26/07/2019 11:31

Sorry meant Dolcie not Splice!!!

KindnessCrusader · 26/07/2019 11:37

'She walked like a woman and talked like a man...l l l l loooola' Sorry Grin I do actually like the name but really can't understand the popularity bearing in mind quoted song!

The others are very nice. Not a fan of Britney but if you love it you have it! Good luck with your new baby Thanks

Bossbabynx5 · 26/07/2019 18:05

Thanks everyone haha @katy1111 I was think splice eh?? And @KindnessCrusader that song is mint man! Think I've decided against sophia guys to posh sound and common for me so that's going to go out of the final list I think.

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 26/07/2019 18:11

@katy1111 thanks hun I love Gracie to did she get called grace ever? dunno what middle name would go with it tho there's no way I would spell it alicia so she would be alisia I think it's nice that it's a better different. I love ruby to and Ella. Why u not keen on marnie? And I just love lauren I know it's abit dated but u could say loads of things are? And common but I think it's just like classic she may well be laura or one of the other but still haven't decided, there was this girl in my year at school called Lauren and we used to call her loz for short or foreign lauren ahahah she wasn't even foreign or anything she was totally english, just used to say it randomly to wind her up poor lass😂

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 28/07/2019 16:19

I really like the name Tiffany to but not sure on acctually using it for a few reasons ? What do yous think..

OP posts:
katy1111 · 29/07/2019 21:44

Sorry Bossbaby, only just seen this. Stupid autocorrect I know! I don't think Gracie ever got called Grace but didn't know her that well. I think a one-syllable middle name would go nicely like Gracie Rose.
The only reason I can think of that I don't like Marnie is when I was little I read a book where the dog was called Marnie so ever since then have always kind of associated it with that.
Lauren is a really nice name to be fair, it's just that I was in primary school in the 90s and there were 4 in my class so would imagine it's quite a 'mum's' name now. But it is still a nice name.
