DH and I are both from nordic countries. We love the name Tilde. Please tell me your thoughts on it.

SmartPlay - I think Tilda is nicer than Tilde.

The difference in Scandi pronunciation is pretty subtle

Tild-a .... v ...... Tild-eh

Is the e at the end pronounced like in German. In which case I really like it.

It's nice but I think it will get a bit lost in a sea of Matilda/Tilda/Tilly's

@Lunde "The difference in Scandi pronunciation is pretty subtle"

I don't think it's subtle, that's why I like Tilda more ;)
Can't really explain why though. Somehow Tilda flows nicer, I think. Tilde sounds more strict to me.

I am going to go against the grain and say I don't like it much. I am of Scandinavian descent myself and have known 2 Tilde and 1 Tilda its not names I am keen on (nor am I keen on Matilde/a or Tilly)

I do agree the Scandinavian pronunciation is subtle between the Tilde/Tilda names

& yes I think it will get lost in the many Tilly/Matilda's
