We are both fussy with names and I think we have finally decided on Morgan. I love it for either (don't know what we are having but will be finding out at my 20 week scan in 2 weeks) but I think it is more of a girls name, what do you guys think?

I love it Dd went to primary with a Morgan and always thought what a nice name.

Mrsjayy · 18/07/2019 19:05

This Morgan is a girl but ive heard it on a boy too liked it just as much .

Marcipex · 18/07/2019 19:11

I know one of each. I don’t dislike it but you can’t stop people saying Morg(ue)

haggistramp · 18/07/2019 19:27

Ds1 is Morgan. Obviously I love it. Much prefer it as a boys name than a girls tbh.

KatieMurr · 18/07/2019 19:32

Haha Morg that's so funny. Never thought of that but made me laugh. Maybe wouldn't though if kids started calling them that though

My niece is called Morgan so it's more of a girls name imo. I like it

FartnissEverbeans · 18/07/2019 19:59

I like it for both. It reminds me of the poet Edwin Morgan.

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2019 20:01

I like it, especially on a girl.

IncrediblySadToo · 18/07/2019 20:03

It’s definitely unisex & you both like it sonit seems like a winner to me! Job done!

I prefer it for a G than a B but it’s good for both

Greyhound22 · 18/07/2019 20:09

I like it.

I 'found' a lost little girl on a beach many years ago and I stayed with her and called the police etc. She was called Morgan and was absolutely lovely. Always reminds me of her. I think it would suit a boy as well.

Shadow1234 · 18/07/2019 21:08

lovely name for boy or girl

CountFosco · 18/07/2019 21:11

My DD has a very good friend called Morgan who is a lovely and very smart little girl. So go for it!

Frith2013 · 18/07/2019 22:05

It’s a boy’s name.

It means man from the sea.

CatteStreet · 18/07/2019 22:08

Not keen, tbh. There are so many lovely names out there.

I really wouldm't name your child on the basis of influence from a TV show. Not for any snobbish reason, but because TV shows come and go and your enthusiasm is unlikely to last. Or there's the danger you'll encounter an even more 'perfect' name in the next series you watch.

Crunched · 18/07/2019 22:09

I like it.
Have you considered Harley? Similarly unisex, and transport connotations.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 18/07/2019 22:13

It's Welsh and a male name I think it's more unisex in America, Morgan Fairchild for example

Enko · 18/07/2019 22:47

I dislike unisex names intently I sadly have one myself. Always hated the unisex part of it the most. Morgan is not a name I like both for unisex reasons and to me it sounds harsh to the ear.

username1724 · 18/07/2019 22:50

I really like it, I know one of each sex

DickZillaofTheVilla · 18/07/2019 22:55

I think of that irritating drag queen Morgan McMichaels when I hear it. But I do know of a 6 year old girl called Morgan

SnowdropFox · 18/07/2019 23:30

I love it! I've know a number of Morgan's over the years. Mainly female and often nn Morgie (rhyming with corgi).

Marty93 · 19/07/2019 14:40

It is a lovely name. I have known a few Morgans and all have been girls. I've never known a boy Morgan although I do know it is unisex and wouldn't think it was weird if I met a boy Morgan!

I tend to find Logan is like the Male alternative if anything.

but overall, Morgan is a lovely name :)!

IsobelRae23 · 19/07/2019 16:21

I know several male Morgan’s and one female- I’m in Wales.

Icklepup · 20/07/2019 09:23

Like morning is 'morgen' in German..
Don't like Morgan, not any nice nicknames either that I think of.

takeasadsongandmakeitbetter · 20/07/2019 09:27

I think it's lovely for a girl or a boy and not too overused!

yomellamoHelly · 20/07/2019 09:47

I've met 2 girl Morgans. So to me it's a girls name.... Never met a boy called it
