These are what I have so far. Bit slim on names for boys at the moment. So any additional names you could think of. Already have a Charlie at home so ideally I'd like it to compliment that and not be too out there, iyswim.

Wren
Quinn
Alexander
Teddy

Ana
Lydia
Matilda
Rowan
Stevie
Rae
Alice
Bonnie
Alex
Faye
Effy

Elliot
Felix

I’m not keen on Teddy or Effy. Effy sounds like a swear word and Teddy could be unfortunate for a strapping bloke later on in life.

mondler · 13/07/2019 20:30

The Charlie I know has Oscar as a brother.

How about Harry, Finn or Seth?

I like Faye and Matilda from your girl list.

HappyDinosaur · 13/07/2019 20:32

Teddy and Alexander are really popular at the moment around here so I'd probably go for Quinn of your boy options. I know Wren can be used for both but I prefer it for a girl. I like Alice or Matilda for a girl too.

NameChange30 · 13/07/2019 20:42

Wren - no, more common for girls than boys and I struggle to think of it as a name not a bird
Quinn - yes
Alexander - yes, popular but I like the fact that there are 2 possible shortenings (Alex and Xander)
Teddy - please no, it seems like every other person is calling their son Teddy nowadays, yawn (plus a Teddy is a cuddly toy not a person)

Ana - no. too easy to put an "l" on the end: Anal. Just use Anna (or Anya)
Lydia - ok
Matilda - yes
Rowan - yes
Stevie - no it's a boy's name
Rae - no
Alice - yes
Bonnie - no too cutesy
Alex - yes but should be Alexandra
Faye - yes, this is my fave (underused IMO)
Effy - nope it's a character from the Hunger Games and sounds made up or a cutesy nickname

MollyHuaCha · 13/07/2019 20:46

Wren - no
Quinn - too similar to quim
Alexander - lovely
Teddy - no

Ana - yes if it is written Anna
Lydia - nice
Matilda - nice
Rowan - no
Stevie - no
Rae - nice
Alice - nice
Bonnie - no
Alex - yes us Alexandra
Faye - I hear fey, so no
Effy - no

Gummibeary · 13/07/2019 21:04

Quinn for a boy

Alice for a girl

Lavenderblues · 13/07/2019 21:07

Love Quinn! How about Quinn Alexander?

For a girl I really like Lydia and Faye.

Littlebird88 · 13/07/2019 21:08

Rudi
sully
sandy
torin
corrie

Grufallosfriends · 13/07/2019 21:13

Teddy is overused and cutesy. Alex is ok but Quinn is my favourite. It's strong and cool.

I like Matilda and Alice best.

MrsBertBibby · 13/07/2019 21:16

Alexander is great. Teddy is a cute nickname, but use Edward on the BC, it's a grown man's name.

No to Quinn and Wren. Silly faddy names.

Or use Robert. A fantastic name, sadly underused.

I don't really like most of your girl names. Fay (I prefer no e) is lovely if you have a long surname but if you're a monosyllabic surname, pick something longer. Anna (not Ana) is a fabulous name.

IVflytrap · 13/07/2019 21:24

My favourites are Alexander and Rowan. I also like Faye, Bonnie and Stevie.

You could also use Rowan for a boy? Some other boy suggestions:

Zachary
Bram
Ellis
Vincent
Leander
Jed
Joel
Kester
Oran
Leon

BackforGood · 13/07/2019 21:31

Alexander is nice enough. The other 3 are awful.

Alice is the only one off your girls' list I'd consider.

Rosiesandposies1 · 13/07/2019 21:35

I like Alexander for a boy and Rae and Matilda for a girl. I like Quinn and Wren, but for a girl not boy.

Boy:- Emmett, Gideon, Tobias, Elliot, Elijah, Eli, Felix, Fabian, Nate, Tate, Xavier, Zander, Horacio,

Girl:- Emily, Athena, Anastasia, Bella, Brooke, Cassia, Della, Eden, Esme, Hallie, Darcy, Imogen, Layla, Nova, Luna, Ottilie, Pandora, Penelope, Quinn, Spencer, Blair, Layne, Lowri, Anais, Willow, Wren,

IggyAce · 13/07/2019 21:40

Wren: I think of this as a girls name
Quinn: ok but prefer it for a girl.
Alexander : yes love this, lots of nn potential.
Teddy: ok

Ana: prefer Anna spelling and if spelt Ana would probably be correcting people.
Lydia: ok
Matilda: ok
Rowan: Prefer for a boy
Stevie: no better suited for a boy.
Rae: love
Alice: nice and under used
Bonnie: no
Alex: spelt it Alix
Faye: nice and under used.
Effy: no sounds like a swear word also tried to auto correct to Iffy.

Lydiaz · 13/07/2019 21:41

Militantmartha · 13/07/2019 21:44

Wren and Quinn are lovely but think of them as girl's names not boys
Alexander is great, has a timeless quality

Teddy - it's ok as a nn for Theodore but there are so many now!

Ana - a little boring
Lydia - Nice
Matilda - Nice
Rowan - Nice plus Ro is a nice nn
Stevie - Like it but feels a tad risky as not every little girl would suit it.
Rae - not keen
Alice - Like another timeless name
Bonnie - not keen
Alex - like it
Faye - not keen makes me think of steps the band
Effy - nice

Icklepup · 13/07/2019 21:50

Quinn Alexander
Alice Matilda

ABitOTT · 13/07/2019 21:57

As he likes Claire, what about Clara?

If its any consolation my DH suggested Pauline for our DD. Thankfully she ended up with a name we both agreed on which is nothing like Pauline (or Kimberley)

NameChange30 · 13/07/2019 22:26

Oh dear, your DH's choices are all rather 90s, aren't they?! I quite like Amy and Natalie though.

Grufallosfriends · 13/07/2019 22:49

Quinn Alexander
Alice Matilda

Lovely combos

Bookworm4 · 13/07/2019 22:50

Faye and Quinn

Redpostbox · 13/07/2019 22:56

Ondine
Olive
Joy

Zathras
Monty

MummaGiles · 13/07/2019 23:02

Boys:
Lucas
Oscar
Ethan
Freddie (Frederick)
Alexander I like from your list

I’m not good with girls names

Awrite · 13/07/2019 23:04

Does your dh think that it's the 1980's?

Alexander is by far the best of your boys names. Charlie and Alex go well together.

Of your girls names I love Anna, like Matilda and think the rest are okay.
