Tabitha is my favorite, dd gives it the thumbs up too.

joystir59 · 12/07/2019 13:52

Alice or Sophie. Sophie would be my first choice.

KarineAimee · 12/07/2019 14:03

Matilda, Tabitha or Scarlett. Lovely names!

Ellabella989 · 12/07/2019 14:04

I like Alice, Heidi, savannah and Sophie

Nonameyet1 · 12/07/2019 14:08

Alice - nice and sweet
Anastasia - could work
Aurora - a bit too sleeping beauty for me but pretty name
Bethany - ok
Bianca - No
Francesca - No
Heidi - reminds me of the classic 80s story
Madeline - like
Matilda - like
Phoebe - people love this name but it’s just not for me
Savannah - no
Scarlett - like
Sophie - sweet and classic
Tabitha - like the nn Tabby. Good name

TempsPerdu · 12/07/2019 14:34

I’d go for Alice, Phoebe, Heidi or Tabitha.

MikeUniformMike · 12/07/2019 14:43

Sorry to be picky but it's from "DH and me".
Alice - lovely
Anastasia - lovely but too frilly and too 50 Shades of Grey
Aurora - lovely but too many Rs, I just hear Owowa
Bethany - ok
Bianca - lovely but RICKYYYYY!
Francesca - too frilly for me
Heidi - great
Madeline - don't like Maddie
Matilda - so many of them around
Phoebe - great
Savannah - no
Scarlett - yes
Sophie - yes
Tabitha - no

autumngold6 · 12/07/2019 14:45

Alice or Matilda

Expressedways · 12/07/2019 14:49

My top pick would be Tabitha but I also love Alice, Madeline (although prefer Madeleine) and Phoebe.
I quite like Matilda, Heidi and Scarlett.
Sophie is ok but dull.
I really dislike the remaining names on your list.

growlingbear · 12/07/2019 14:49

Favourite girl's name ever is Sophie, so Sophie Alice would be my choice.

3dogs2cats · 12/07/2019 14:54

Hate Bethany, Bianca, Savannah and Scarlett. Others are ok. Say them with the surname. One may ring right

kittytiggy · 12/07/2019 14:58

Alice - meh. A bit plain and popular.
Anastasia - really lovely but quite long so something to bear in mind.
Aurora - lovely but be aware of the disney associations
Bethany - don't like
Bianca - my 5 year old Husky's name Blush
Francesca - nope. Not for me.
Heidi - really pretty and not common.
Madeline - again very popular. So many Maddies around.
Matilda - not keen.
Phoebe - nice
Savannah - love it
Scarlett - it's alright but getting popular.
Sophie - nice name but quite bland and very common
Tabitha - a cat's name

So on balance, I like Savannah and Heidi best, Heidi probably edging it slightly for me! xx

kittytiggy · 12/07/2019 15:03

Agree with @3dogs2cats advice of saying with surname!!!

Also @MikeUniformMike Sorry to be picky but it's from "DH and me".
Really??? I am not very intelligent and say 'and me' but always thought the correct proper way was 'and i' ???

Anyway that's a debate for another time Grin

TatianaLarina · 12/07/2019 15:12

I like:

Aurora
Francesca
Phoebe
Matilda

TatianaLarina · 12/07/2019 15:16

Really??? I am not very intelligent and say 'and me' but always thought the correct proper way was 'and i' ???

Many people use ‘and I’ randomly thinking it’s ‘correct’.

Depends entirely on the context.

‘A list of names from DH and me’

‘DH and I prefer these names’

If in doubt, take the other person out.

WhatTheWatersShowedMe · 12/07/2019 15:16

Alice- It's a nice name but there are a lot of them out there
Anastasia- Missing Russian princess. Nah.
Aurora- Disney princess. Nah.
Bethany- Not keen on this one but I don't know why. I like 'Beth' though.
Bianca- Drag Queen
Francesca- Bit boring
Heidi- Bit boring
Madeline- Child abduction vibes
Matilda- Nice
Phoebe- Nice
Savannah- No.
Scarlett- Mildly stripperish
Sophie- Nice name but, like Alice, there are an abundance of them
Tabitha- Unusual, but not insane.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 12/07/2019 15:20

@kittytiggy would you really say "girls' name list from I"???

CakeRattleandRoll · 12/07/2019 15:30

Love Tabitha, couldn't get DH to agree to this for our DD.

Like Anastasia, Bethany, Francesca and Madeleine (that spelling)

Changedname81 · 12/07/2019 15:32

Alice
Madeline bit spelled Madeleine
Matilda
Phoebe
Sophie

The rest I don’t care for Smile

MikeUniformMike · 12/07/2019 15:33

This list of names is from me.
This list of names is from DH and me.
I have a list.
DH and I have a list.

The Queen's 'My husband and I...' was probably so that she wouldn't be making it to be about her. DH and me or DH and I just sound/look better than Me and DH or I and DH.

Nice list of names. I'm another one who really likes Beth but not keen on Bethany. I don't like Bethan - overused in the 1960s in wales and sounds dated - and it's much prettier in a welsh accent.

Pick the one that sounds good with the surname.
Scarlett Sprinkle is quite filmstarry :-)

lioness87 · 12/07/2019 16:02

Alice

TheNavigator · 12/07/2019 16:12

Alice

midsomermurderess · 12/07/2019 16:16

Alice. Unfussy, elegant.

AuntieStella · 12/07/2019 16:18

Alice - lovely, classic (and very popular)
Anastasia - lovely
Aurora - don't like
Bethany - ok (but Corrie)
Bianca - Jagger or Eastenders?
Francesca - lovely (my joint favourite)
Heidi - ok
Madeline - ok
Matilda - like
Phoebe - ok
Savannah - ok
Scarlett - lovely
Sophie - lovely classic name (again, very popular)
Tabitha - lovely (my joint favourite)

OverthinkingThis · 12/07/2019 16:22

Alice is great (going to disagree with the pp who said it's rare though, there's loads near me)

Phoebe and Sophie are lovely

I'm not a massive fan of the rest, sorry. Outside of MN, Tabitha is a cat name.
