I think I'll have this on cut and paste ... think about whether at 18 or 28 or whatever that cute little bundle will be embarrassed by their name - imagine they join the army and are passing out of Sandhurst, they are getting called to the bar, they are a teacher, is their name going to hinder them on their cv. Nova perhaps is more a nickname?

Unfortunately I just think of Novocaine (and the greenday song "give me novocaine") but then again I am a doctor so that might just be me.

I like it as a pet name but sorry, it really doesnt work as a human name for me

I hadn't heard of anyone with the name however now know 3 babies named Nova.

Still not keen though

Nova Winter is the name of Elsie Larson’s daughter (founder of A Beautiful Mess). Nova was adopted from China (and now has a sibling, Marigold, also from China and like Nova diagnosed with Albinism). The name Nova was given partly due to her being given a new life in the US with loving parents. Have a Nova at DC school and it's been a "grower" of a name for me.

Wouldn't use it myself but its not awful.
