If we like Seth...

DH and I have had a girl's name picked out for months, but if this one turns out to be a boy, we're a bit stumped.
We both tend to like strong, simple, timeless (possibly biblical) names like Seth, Jude, Finn, Sam(uel), but can't seem to agree on just one.
Can you suggest any other boy's names that we might like along those lines?
Family middle name has already been chosen and surname is a very common one-syllable British name.

I have a son called Luke, which has always been a strong name as well as a biblical name.

My husband was nearly a Seth - he ended up a Benjamin instead!

Love Max and Joe, but they have both already been used for kids that we see a lot of. It would get too confusing!

A little update. He's here and he's definitely a Seth - no mistaking it.
So many gorgeous suggestions on here, I wish I could have used them all!

Congratulations and best wishes to you and Seth

Sol stands out for me as being similar to Seth, because of the brilliant TV show Deadwood (Sol Star and Seth Bullock were friends on the show). I really like Sol and Seth as a pair, so hope that if you like Seth, you'll like Sol too. It's short for Solomon if you want to have a longer variant. I have a Sam, who is Samuel on his birth certificate, so he has the option to 'go long' if he wishes.

Ariela · 12/10/2019 13:55

I know a Seth with a little brother Archie, which I think goes quite well. Does of course depend on your surname too.

Absofruitly · 12/10/2019 13:57

Oops, just saw your update! Congrats! Wonderful name choice.
Check out Deadwood (on Now TV) for a brilliant Seth (a real guy from history too).

I wouldn’t say that style is timeless - they’re all very trendy names that have shot up the charts out of nowhere
