Stuck between the two, love them equally and can't decide so hoping this thread might sway meGrin

I don't think daisy ages well. Elsie is fab.

DramaAlpaca · 08/07/2019 17:37

Of the two, Daisy by a long way. But both are too twee for me.

Lavenderblues · 08/07/2019 17:42

I'm afraid I'm not keen on either but if I had to choose, probably Elsie short for Elspeth.

carmenbea · 08/07/2019 17:44

Daisy

Zoobluebabypink · 08/07/2019 18:15

To me they both sound like names of maids or factory workers in a period drama Grin

Gummibaersy · 08/07/2019 21:16

Neither sound elegant nor travel well into other languages. Quite twee too.

How about Elisabeth nickname Elsie?

TurquoiseDress · 09/07/2019 10:29

I don't particularly like either name but if I had to pick one it would be Daisy

Elsie seems a bit trendy at the moment, old lady chic and I've heard it so many times locally

Azuresilver · 09/07/2019 10:35

I know 3 little Elsies and no Daisys. I prefer Daisy too.

RightOnTheEdge · 09/07/2019 10:41

I've got a Daisy and she always complains that there are too many in her primary school. I was quite isolated when she was born so I didn't realise how popular it was.

I was surprised to meet a little Elsie a couple of years ago. It was unusual then, but a know a few more now it's getting more common.
I like the sound of Elsie it's cute.

lifeofamummy · 09/07/2019 18:26

Elsie! Gorgeous name

pontiouspilates · 09/07/2019 18:30

Elsie is cute. Daisy is very over used for girls and dogs around here.

Frith2013 · 09/07/2019 18:54

Elsie.

Singlenotsingle · 09/07/2019 18:55

Daisy.

bridgetreilly · 09/07/2019 20:41

Elsie. Daisy is just not a grown up name, for me. It's cute on a toddler, but I don't like it for an adult. Elsie is a lovely name that will grow up with her.

aibutohavethisusername · 09/07/2019 20:42

Elsie

LoulabelleAndCo · 09/07/2019 20:45

Daisy. There's lots of little Elsie's in my area, very popular now.

CharlieBoo · 09/07/2019 21:28

Oh definitely Daisy... just beautiful ... My old neighbour was Elsie and she was a grumpy miserable lady so it always reminds me of her lol

Thistles24 · 10/07/2019 08:40

I’d go with Elsie, but LOVE the name Elise, which is slightly similar. Daisy (along with other flower names) conjure up images of dainty, giggly toddlers and slight built, elegant women. As a 5 ft 8”, solid size 18 whose neutral facial expression is pretty much a scowl, I don’t think if suit being called Daisy!

DottieLottie1 · 10/07/2019 08:50

I like both. I teach in the SE and Elsie is more popular than Daisy.

Watersnail · 10/07/2019 08:52

Daisy. I don't know anyone of any age called Daisy.

Astronica · 10/07/2019 09:00

I really like both but prefer Daisy. Both are popular so that is neither here nor there in comparing them.

MashedSpud · 10/07/2019 09:03

Daisy.

LLOE7 · 10/07/2019 09:33

I have an Elsie (Elsie-Rose) so I am biased but I love the name!

Girlsmumma2 · 10/07/2019 10:48

Daisy!! Classic and elegant
Elsie is sweet but I think it will date

Rosiesandposies1 · 11/07/2019 17:06

Elsie as I don’t know one. Daisy I have two in my family, and know of several more.
