Anyone like either of these two for girls?

Where did you find these as names? Ivory makes me think of elephants which isn't a bad thing. I once met a black girl called Ebony.

Nonameyet1 · 07/07/2019 18:13

No

lilpumpsmum · 07/07/2019 18:17

No and no

Ginger1982 · 07/07/2019 18:38

Erm no. Maybe if your surname was Kardashian but apart from that...

helpmum2003 · 07/07/2019 18:39

No and no sorry

MrsMoastyToasty · 07/07/2019 18:40

Story . Just no
Ivory. Reminds me of elephants.

tabbiemoo · 07/07/2019 18:46

Sorry both awful but I did used to know a boy called Story. Very odd.

BackforGood · 07/07/2019 18:47

Agree with virtually everyone else.

WhereForArtThouBray · 07/07/2019 18:51

Definitely not.

SemperIdem · 07/07/2019 18:56

Absolutely not

bigmap · 07/07/2019 19:27

I actually think Story is lovely (depending on your accent). Ivory has racist connotations

Emelene · 07/07/2019 19:52

What about Ivy?

sneakypinky · 07/07/2019 20:06

Both terrible.

Fettuccinecarbonara · 07/07/2019 20:08

How about Tori?

EmpressLesbianInChair · 07/07/2019 20:08

Storey is better than Story

But then it means floor.

greathat · 07/07/2019 20:29

No. Don't make your kids' life miserable right from the start. Just give it an actual normal name

RuthW · 07/07/2019 20:43

I know an Ebonie.

Prettylittlelady · 07/07/2019 21:31

Ivory - no way. Sounds white superiority as someone else said and also reminds me of poaching too.
Story - isn’t really a name but if I heard of a child called story I would be more interested in the name choice as in, if you’re calling
your kid story it must have a story behind it (no pun intended) you can’t just like the name as it’s not a name it’s a random word.

Owlbert · 07/07/2019 21:56

I quite like story!

owlofathena · 08/07/2019 00:59

How about Astoria with stori as a nn?

Kokeshi123 · 08/07/2019 01:08

How can "storey" be better than "story"? It makes me think of concrete-and-steel apartment blocks.

They are both terrible names, OP, sorry.

MikeUniformMike · 08/07/2019 09:15

Storey is a surname. It's also the floor of a building, so not suitable as a first name.

Owlbert · 08/07/2019 10:38

I think @owlofathena suggestion is lovely!

SilverySurfer · 08/07/2019 11:03

Awful - far too try hard.

TheVanguardSix · 08/07/2019 11:07

Story? Grin Grin Grin

Storey belongs in a building. Story belongs on paper. Name her after a character in a story, if you must.

Ivory is just too ‘illegal elephant tusky’ for me. And soap. American soap.
