Eimear- love it
Ada- dull
Allanah- prefer Alana. Your spelling looks made up

Layla- really popular at the moment. I know several babies with this name
Meave- not keen at all
Marie- absolutely love it

bitchfromhell · 24/06/2019 18:40

How do you pronounce Eimear?

Polkadotpolly · 24/06/2019 18:50

Like Femur without the F

Marlena1 · 24/06/2019 18:51

Love Leyla

Simmsie1 · 24/06/2019 18:56

-Eimear : never heard it and not sure how to pronounce it
-Ada : Beautiful name that can age with the child
-Allanah : nice name but not my favourite
-Layla : absolutely love it but I’m a bit bias since it’s my DD name, although is spelt it Leila
-Maeve: not keen
-Marie : prefer it more as a middle name and it kind of reminds me of a family friend when I was younger who was quite grumpy but that’s just my personal opinion

bitchfromhell · 24/06/2019 19:07

Thank you for the pronunciation.
None of them jump out tbh. I think Ada is my fave from your list. I like Aoife??

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 19:07

I really like Ada
I also like Alana but I’m a bit confused by your spelling
Marie is ok

DramaAlpaca · 24/06/2019 22:51

Allanah should be Alannah, no? And by Meave do you mean Maeve?

I like Eimear & Maeve best from your list.

If you are in the UK rather than Ireland people will be unfamiliar with how to say Eimear.

Whoops75 · 24/06/2019 22:55

Maeve
Or
Marie

The others are

AnonymousP · 24/06/2019 22:56

Eimear, Ada or Maeve.

Tillygetsit · 24/06/2019 23:08

Ada. Not keen on the others sorry.

Shadow1234 · 25/06/2019 00:12

Maeve or Alana

Wheresthecoffee92 · 25/06/2019 03:42

Only like Maeve.

Roughasabadgersbum · 25/06/2019 15:03

Love Ada .. it's really pretty Smile

HappyDinosaur · 25/06/2019 15:11

I like Maeve best, but spelt like this.

alessandrae83 · 25/06/2019 22:29

Eimear- No
Ada - Love
Allanah- No
Layla -Love
Meave - ok
Marie - ok

Fatkins · 25/06/2019 22:44

Maeve, Maeve, Maeve!

Lovely.

I don't like the others and really dislike Eimear (sorry). I know a fair few and I've never liked the sound of it for some reason. It's a bit of a comedy sound, like meep meep, in my head. But that's almost certainly just me!

I love Irish names though.

Snoopy90 · 25/06/2019 22:57

I love Layla, Ada and Allanah

manicinsomniac · 25/06/2019 22:59

Eimear - I've never come across this. I don't think I like it much.
Ada - quite like it
Allanah - like it but wonder if you mean Alannah for the spelling.
Layla - like it
Meave - it's ok
Marie - not keen. Seems dated. Quite like Maria.

I think I'd go with Alannah.

Marty93 · 26/06/2019 14:01

Sorry but I don't really like any of your choices.

If I had to pick one out of the bunch I think it would be Ada or Marie.

Eimear - out of interest, where is this names origin? I've never seen or heard it before. I have seen that a previous poster says the pronunciation is like Femur without the F. Extremely unique but I'm not sure that I like it.

carmenbea · 29/06/2019 10:24

I love Layla but the popularity puts me off. Marie is lovely too and not as popular

IVflytrap · 29/06/2019 13:25

From most favourite to least:

Meave - should this be Maeve though? Or perhaps Méabh? (according to google)
Ada
Eimear
Marie
Allanah - only really seen this as Alanna or Alannah
Layla

@Marty93 Eimear is Irish. First heard of it on these boards, myself. I quite like it.

Frith2013 · 29/06/2019 19:22

Eimear - not for me
Ada - fine
Allanah - nope
Layla - nope
Maeve - fine
Marie - very boring

Have you thought about
Aine
Grainne

BlueMerchant · 29/06/2019 19:25

Allanah is lovely but prefer it spelt Alana.
Layla is my favourite.

Owlbert · 02/07/2019 16:06

Marie!
