Harlan - like globetrotters? Hard no
Cody/kodie - a bit dated now, there was a rush of Cory/Cody back in the 80/90s. Just a bit blah now imo
Ezra - lovely but not unique or unusual. It's pretty popular
Jesse - again, not particularly unusual if that's your only goal
Kash / Ramsey- chavtastic

I don't really get the need for yoonique names, either it's nice and others have/will use it or it's a bit shit and your child may not thank you.

Boys names are the hardest, I don't if there's generally more boys so more names or just more variety with boys names so you are exposed to more.

I actually know someone who called their son Cash via work. I think she was into country music. We were all a little Hmm but as far as I know no one said anything. She did seem to blush everytime she introduced him ( when she brought him in a few times) , and a few months later he suddenly started being called had a more traditional name. I don't know her well enough to know why she changed it.

Harlen I quite like. It's close to the place name Harlem in the US, but still fine. Similar is Harley ?

The others I'm not so keen on. Personally Jesse is a girls name to me here in the UK.

Ezra I met one too a baby at a breastfeeding group and the mum seemed embarrassed introducing him too, blushed etc, but she could of just been shy? I made the judgment, that she was very religious rather than trendy.

Pinkvoid · 08/06/2019 18:37

I only like Ezra and Jesse. Jesse is my favourite of the two. I’ve met three Ezra’s in my time, my Dad is Jewish and it’s a fairly common Hebrew name.

Sexnotgender · 08/06/2019 18:39

Kash is absolutely dreadful.

Ezra is the best from your list but I’m not a massive fan of it.

What about
Idris
Malachi

Fulltimemummy85 · 08/06/2019 18:42

I know a Harlen, nobody liked his name. I like Jesse

brieandcrackers · 08/06/2019 18:44

If you'd asked this before I started watching Game of Thrones I would say Ramsey... definitely not now!! Grin LOVE Jesse and Ezra.

Moominfan · 08/06/2019 18:54

I love kash and Ezra

What about

Asher
Franklyn
Ronan
Cassius
Troy
Carey
Ira
Shay
Tate
Ralph

yourestandingonmyneck · 08/06/2019 19:08

I also don't like any of them.

There is an other thread on here at the moment. Two of the boy suggestions (that weren't too "out there") were Basil and Atlas. Although not top of my list, I can see the appeal. Would you consider those?

SassyBadger · 08/06/2019 20:01

Harlan - Harlan Coben fans?
Cody/kodie - Cody is okay. Kodie is bad.
Ezra - had never met one until a year or so ago and now I know three tiny Ezras. It's definitely very trendy all of a sudden.
Jesse - lovely
Kash - No. But Cash is cool when short for Cassius
Ramsey - don't mind this one although he's a baddie ( a bad baddie not a loveable one) on GoT, something to be aware of.

SassyBadger · 08/06/2019 20:03

Harlan - like globetrotters? Hard no

Do you perhaps mean the Harlem Globetrotters?

IggyAce · 08/06/2019 20:06

Harlan: like.

Cody/kodie : Cody please don’t be a try hard and go for a unique spelling.

Ezra: I really like this.

Jesse: I think of it as a girls name.

Kash: spell it Cash otherwise it’s try hard again.

Ramsey: no not a fan.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 08/06/2019 20:08

Ezra.

It's probably unfair unfair but the rest (maybe not Jesse) are also all names that would potentially lead to quite negative assumptions, they sound a bit American and made up.

Widowodiw · 08/06/2019 20:10

Why call him Harlan if he’s going to be nicknamed Lenny? May as well just call him Lenny

Just Lennie?

CoffeeRunner · 09/06/2019 04:36

Ezra or Lenny are nice names.

GOT has also ruined Ramsay for me! Sorry.

If you like the nn Lenny & want an unusual full name, have you considered Lennox?

Loveislandaddict · 09/06/2019 05:10

Kash is awful. Quite like the others.

Suggestions:
Jabez
Josiah
Clyde
Clarence
Lucien
Wilbert
Cole
Egbert (name of early King)

PeterRabbitsBlueCoat · 09/06/2019 06:13

Harlan/Harlen just looks like you've made it up, and not in a good way!

Cody, for me, will always be a girl from Neighbours showing my age

Kodie is hideous

Ezra is nice

Jesse is OK

Ramsey/Ramsay doesn't sound like a name to me, but I don't watch GoT, and i know a village in Essex called Ramsey.

PeterRabbitsBlueCoat · 09/06/2019 06:14

Oops, forgot Kash. Isn't one of Wayne Rooney's kids called Kash? That's enough to put me off.

NameChangerAmI · 09/06/2019 06:18

Isn't the simple soul from Of MIce & Men called Lennie/Lenny?

If so, I wouldn't want to use it for a child of mine.

Lennox is a nice name, though, but I wouldn't be encouraging the use of the nn Lennie in any case.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 09/06/2019 06:24

Don’t you mean Harland?

A child is unique because they are themselves. Self-consciously ‘unique’ names inevitably look gauche, and attract ridicule.

SherlockSays · 09/06/2019 06:24

Ezra isn't unusual - it's actually very popular now, I know several born in the last couple of years.

The rest are too try hard, Jesse is provably the best.

veeboo · 09/06/2019 06:37

I love Lennie OP. Do you dislike Leonard?

Some suggestions:
Hudson (a friends nephew has this name and I've never met another? Maybe goes with your Harlen suggestion
Rafferty
Conan
Ronan
Roman
Caleb
