Reggie Jack

Penny4Thoughts · 01/06/2019 20:26

Albie for me - lots of g noises in Reggie Jack

DestinyIsCallingMe · 01/06/2019 20:53

Reggie I think is fine as a stand-alone name, whereas Albie is awfully babyish and cutesy.

On that basis, if Albie and Reggie are the only options, then I prefer Reggie. Though I would go for Albert, with Albie as a nickname.

He won't thank you for calling him Albie when he's at secondary school or trying to enter a professional career.

DestinyIsCallingMe · 01/06/2019 20:53

I also think Albie is quite weak, whereas Reggie and Brodie are both strong names in their own right.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 01/06/2019 20:55

I would use Jack as the first name. Reggie and albie both awful

Mac47 · 01/06/2019 21:08

Jack is nice.

lucymegan · 01/06/2019 21:10

I prefer albie jack.

Mouthfulofquiz · 01/06/2019 21:12

As shortened names or as they are?i like Albie if he has Albert to fall back on if that makes sense?

Moneybegreen · 01/06/2019 21:16

Can't you give them the actual name so the child has a choice in future?

Albert or Reginald?

Ashleigh95 · 01/06/2019 21:20

Thanks for replies, Jackson was also on my list as a first name, but we preferred either Albie or Reggie, really don't like the name Albert or Reginald, I thought when they are older they could either go by Al or Reg as nicknames?

I think it’s not about choice of nicknames but choice of professional / full names. I’d also go for Albert.

Have you considered Murray? Solid name in its own right and sounds like your sort of style?

It's far better to have a formal name that is abbreviated as a child, than an informal name that has to be formalised as an adult.

Albie will be cute until he's 10. After that it will be embarrassing.

How will it be embarrassing? I know lots of men that are albie 🙄

Kanga83 · 01/06/2019 22:16

Alban instead of Albert with the nn Albie?

PissOffPeppa · 01/06/2019 22:37

Reggie! Gorgeous name

AmyMaria2 · 02/06/2019 18:32

Really like albie jack.. but everyone would assume he is Albert and like you I only like albie so you'll have to decide if you always want to be saying "it's just albie"

Bluerussian · 02/06/2019 18:35

I hate the trend for naming babies with diminutives.
Reginald and Albert are the correct names, they can be called Reg and Albie (quite like Albie, Reg makes me think of a not very bright old man).

Jack - a diminutive of John - is best of all.

Alicecooperslovechild · 02/06/2019 18:36

Reggie still makes me think of the array twins, sorry.

Sexnotgender · 02/06/2019 18:37

Alban with nn Albie, really not a fan of either though.

I agree. Reggie and Albie a re twee and cutesy.

heartoftheocean · 02/06/2019 23:25

I like both names OP.
I personally do not understand all these comments about using a longer name..... What is the point calling a child one name and using something different. Give them the name you call them!
I think Albie just has the edge for me. Good like OP.

heartoftheocean · 02/06/2019 23:25

*Good Luck

Fedoratheexploreer · 02/06/2019 23:30

I love Albie

whizzpopbangalang · 03/06/2019 00:43

Albie 💙 I wouldn't worry about needing a longer official name if you don't like it or never intend on using it. He will be at school / work with plenty of Archie's Charlie's etc so not out of place at all.

Jossina · 03/06/2019 04:56

Who says he won't be a boy who hates that he has a nickname for a name? Or that he'll won't like Reggie/Albie and want to be called Egs or Lib or something else?
