I don’t like Rosalba but do like Rosalie or Rose Alba as two separate names would be lovely.

Still18atheart · 12/05/2019 12:23

Sounds like a disease or a medication to specifically used to treat said disease

Her0utdoors · 12/05/2019 12:27

White rose of york g.co/kgs/pB8Hm2 maybe not of you are from Lancashire.

ViserionTheDragon · 12/05/2019 12:35

Another no. What about Alba Rose instead?

AFitRunner · 12/05/2019 13:56

Grin thank you to those who recognised it as a old Italian name, not a made up illness Grin Yes it means white rose, a meaning I like.

Well I like that people aren't that enthused by it (I wouldn't want a name that was unanimously liked) or confused by the pronounciation.

Ah you should have said you were looking for a name people generally don't like. We could have been a bit less restrained Grin

If it is an old Italian name and you love it, then use it. Now you have explained, I can see the appeal.

NuffSaidSam · 12/05/2019 20:39

Why would you actively want a name that people can't pronounce?!

Steamfan · 12/05/2019 20:43

I think it's lovely - Rosalba Carriera was a painter, and I think there's a character in one of the Cadfael books

Marmaladegin · 12/05/2019 21:02

I like both names but agree that together they sound like a disease, sorry.

BiBabbles · 12/05/2019 21:06

It seems nice, though also kinda feels incomplete - when reading it, it feels like a shortened of Rosabelle even when I know it's a different name.

MiraculousMarinette · 12/05/2019 21:11

Are you based in Italy or UK? If latter then you can't really expect most to recognise it as an old Italian name. You'll just get Confused faces. Alba Rose is much less cumbersome and easier on British ear.

Leelaseye · 12/05/2019 22:16

I have a lovely Mexican friend called Rosalba - I think it's a beautiful name because of her.

Freyanna · 12/05/2019 22:44

I think it sounds clunky. Prefer Rosalie.
