What do you think of the name Paxton nn Pax? He will have a short two syllable surname begging with a P also if that affects your thoughts

Awful

Sounds like a surname.

Calloway · 08/05/2019 22:44

I initially read it as Paxman and was going to warn to warn you that you'd be giving birth to a very dogged and argumentative child.

Paxton doesn't do much for me I'm afraid.

RenaissenceBelle · 08/05/2019 22:45

Horrid

Bumblebeesmum · 08/05/2019 22:45

Jeremy

Awful

AnotherRubberDuck · 08/05/2019 22:45

Reminds me of stuffing

Calloway · 08/05/2019 22:45

I don't mind surnames as first name, just not this particular name.

FamilyOfAliens · 08/05/2019 22:46

It sounds ridiculous to me but if you like it, use it.

TildaTurnip · 08/05/2019 22:46

It reminds me of stuffing too. Or Pac-Man.

wowfudge · 08/05/2019 22:47

Paxton is the name of the company behind the Net2 access system used in lots of work places. I had some more of their access cards delivered to me at work today.

It's a no from me.

DramaAlpaca · 08/05/2019 22:48

I actually don't mind it, which is odd for me as I don't usually like surnames as first names. But I don't like it with a surname that also begins with 'P' - unless it's something like Phillips, with an 'F' sound rather than 'P'.

LikeDolphinsCanSwin · 08/05/2019 22:49

Is it an actual name, with some cultural heritage, or did you make it up?

The answer would affect what I would say about it.

DuffBeer · 08/05/2019 22:51

Don't you make stuffing balls out of it?

barryfromclareisfit · 08/05/2019 22:52

Paxo.
Paxman.

twocats335 · 08/05/2019 22:52

It might get shortened to Paxo Grin

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 08/05/2019 22:53

Totally agree with this..

FlaviaAlbia · 08/05/2019 22:54

I like it, reminds me of the hockey player. Not sure about shortening it to Pax though.

BasiliskStare · 08/05/2019 22:55

Personally I do not like it - but not my son so all best wishes.

But then there were parents who called their son Nimrod Ping - which has to be the most "out there" name ever Smile

Subla2401 · 08/05/2019 23:05

I love Paxton! Pax is such a cute nickname too.

Saharasunset · 08/05/2019 23:09

@DramaAlpaca No it’s not an ‘F’ sound, very much a clear ‘P’ sound

@LikeDolphinsCanSwim Yes it’s a real name that I didn’t make up. I have just heard it in a Television series and so have had a google. Angelina Jolie’s son is Pax. There’s an American footballer with the name and was the name of the character in the horror movie ‘Hostel’ which puts me off slightly. I hadn’t ever heard of it before tonight either.

Judging from pretty much everyone’s reactions on here so far though it’s not going down well Blush

Netflixandchilll · 08/05/2019 23:09

I second stuffing

FrederickCreeding · 08/05/2019 23:15

It's the name of one of the trains on Thomas the Tank Engine!

Sorry op, I'm not especially keen either.

Antonin · 09/05/2019 01:13

Why not simply Pax?

MollyHuaCha · 09/05/2019 01:21

Paxton's a no from me.

NotWeavingButDarning · 09/05/2019 02:15

Village in Cambridgeshire.

daisypond · 09/05/2019 07:59

I’ve surprised myself here and I rather like it.
