Rhyming full names?

Would you judge someone whose two DD's had rhyming names?
One half of the full names would rhyme but the nicknames that they would be known by would be totally different.

For example- Gabriella and Isabella but would be known as Gabby and Issy. (Not the actual names I have just googled rhyming names that are similar to our choice).

Tacky or do-able?

I first read this and thought you meant like 'Jenson Benson' or something. Can't see a problem with what you've described at all.

Gabriella and Isabella sound great as names siblings, but not as names for one person (Gabriella Isabella Benson).

Jenson Benson type rhyming sounds silly.

I need to know the names now.

I think it’s fine. I’m imagining something like Alexandra - Alex- and Cassandra- Cassie.

I think the end part rhyming sounds okay. Might be a bit weirder if it was the beginning, somehow. And the different nicknames means it really won't matter. (Unlike identical twins I knew growing up, whose parents short-sightedly named them Victoria and Nicola...)

mossyroundhill · 07/05/2019 20:20

Yes daisypond similar to that. The last three letters are the same so it does make both sound quite similar, but the nicknames are totally different.
I'm sorry Babyfoal, I know that people always say on here that details will out them, but if anyone I knew read the thread they would know that we were trying for another baby and also what we would call it Grin DD's name is very unusual!

Fine as long as they’re not too close in age & going to have similar social circles etc

I don't think I would. I have cousins with names that end in the same sound and growing up they hated it as people would always say it in almost a sing song voice when referring to them together. Especially as my aunt insisted that people use their full first names at all times. The younger one shortened her name as soon as she was old enough to voice an opinion.
