What does everyone think of Harper or Poppy?

Harper is more like a surname and American and Poppy very popular, but pretty.

Pippa, Leila, Heidi, Daisy - short names with a similar feel?

Poppy is nicer imo
Harper sounds like trying to be literary, but actually choosing such an obvious literary name that it has the reverse effect.

I'm really keen on Piper. The only reason I has dismissed it before was that someone told me it meant something rude in French??!

Maybe start a thread :is Piper a Dyce stuff in French?? I haven't heard it and unless you have French family (and it is actually a rude word), how frequently would that be a problem?

Love the name Poppy, would have been on our list but doesn’t go with out surname ☹️
But, love, love, love the name Harper!
I feel a little sad that I will never have a Harper! 🙂

Poppy is lovely as is Piper though I would have thought that as American as Harper. Wouldn't be worried about that myself though. Other than that what about Phoebe, Daisy, Tessa or Bronte

Piper seems far more popular than I thought it would be! I was expecting people to say it was tacky/American sounding, which never seems popular on here!

Of all the names you like, OP- which name could you, as an adult, imagine being called? when you decide that, that’s prob the name.
