Rhyming names

I like a single syllable name that rhymes with the first syllable of our surname. DH thinks the rhyming means the name doesn't work.

What do you think? Without giving our quite unusual surname away, here are some examples of the same thing...

Dom Thomson
Jon Ronson
Kim Timmins
Ray Mayford

No

I love the idea! Names like that sound great. Also love alliteration.

Icklepup · 26/04/2019 08:50

I think it sounds silly.

Peachbubble · 26/04/2019 09:18

No, I don't like it

Don’t like

I think names like that sound great.

Not keen.

Ray Davies is fine.

Presumably the name is more than one syllable? I can’t see the issue

bridgetreilly · 27/04/2019 14:02

I think if it's just one syllable it's actually fine. The two names don't rhyme in the way we normally think of it - which is to do with the end of a word, not the beginning.

MercyBodle · 29/04/2019 01:29

Not a problem that I can see. Your examples sound good to me. I agree with @bridgetreilly's comments.
