Help! I'm not in love with any boys names

When it comes to girls names my "shortlist" is a mile long, but I'm finding boys names so much harder. At the moment I'm considering Zachary, Xavier or Jasper, but none of them really click for me. Ideally a
2 syllable name would go best with older sister Autumn, but that's not essential, I just want to fall in love with a name! Please help?

You guys are amazing! I don't think I've ever seen so many great names in one thread! Thank you so much.

I particularly love the suggestion of Xander, but as a person who grew up with Buffy I have to wonder if it's a bit too American? (Obviously there's nothing wrong with American names! I just have no links to the US.)

I don’t think that would matter tbh. I don’t know many Americans that would be bothered by that. I definitely wouldn’t. I wouldn’t say as an American we have a distinct culture as other countries due to us being a relatively new country and our origins of many countries “finding” North America throughout history. Add in the different and vast influxes of immigrants from all over the world throughout our history. I don’t think much of an eye would be batted, at least by Americans.

Besides, Xander itself was just a shortened version of Alexander.

Xander's very trendy atm. I don't think it's durable as a stand-alone name, tbh.

Xander is so cool!

I love Jasper. And Fraser was a great suggestion too

How about Otto? Clarence? Laurence? Percy? Richard?

MissHenty · 19/04/2019 18:07

Robin? Ralph?

I don't mind Xander (I too am struggling with shortlists) but would go for Alexander on the birth certificate, so he would have the choice later on of staying a Xander or being an Alex/Al/Lex too.

MissHenty · 19/04/2019 18:27

Alistair?

There are plenty of British Xanders. Not that is crazily popular... but I work in education and have met 3 in the last couple of years. All British, usually on the posh side. I wouldn’t think it’s American! Lovely name.

LittleMissMummaBear · 20/04/2019 14:46

Zachary and Jasper are absolutely brilliant, I love them. I’m pretty sure you will fall in love with a name when you meet the little bub and the name relates to a person! x
