hi everyone, new mum on mumsnet in a bit of a panic!
I need a girl name to go with my eldest's name, Ruby. i like short and sweet girl names. I really really like the name Emma but sounds a bit ridiculous with our last name.
please help me with some suggestions! Xx

Congratulations. I think Ruby and Elsie go really well together.

DarlingLittleBabyName · 27/03/2019 18:40

these suggestions are great. We really like Elsie, Isla and Belle, nothing sticking out yet though! I feel like I’m being rushed to name her because she’s nearly two days old nameless and we named my first months before she was born!

I seem very stuck on Elsie. It’s very sweet and pretty. DH likes it too, I’m just not 100% sure!

I love Elsie too. Elise is nice too.

My daughter was born nameless too I loved Lydia but we left it down to the teenagers in the end. They chose Alana which suits her and I can't Imagine her being anything else but a tiny bit of me regrets not calling her Lydia 😳

No suggestions, just wanted to say Elsie is a lovely name

GrasswillbeGreener · 27/03/2019 19:03

Congratulations and don't be afraid of taking a few more days to find the right name. I think my daughter was 3 or 4 days old when I phoned my mother to run a "possible" by her and she pointed out an unfortunate nickname possibility with our surname that ruled it out immediately ... (not sure my husband has ever forgiven that ...).

My son's name was picked out months before his big sister was born, when he came along it was still the right boys name. :)

Darkbaptism · 27/03/2019 19:06

Ruby and Elsie go really well together.

PandaBlue · 27/03/2019 19:07

Elsie is so cute, I love it! Maybe just try using it at home the next day or two and see if it sticks. This worked for my DS. (Not Elsie for him though 😂)

KirstyT11 · 27/03/2019 19:13

ThisMustBeMyDream fantastic advice given.

policy in practice better off calculator as it is a lot more user-friendly and you can see the difference between staying on tax credits and claiming universal credit.

You will almost certainly be better off on universal credit
