If I like Thomas..

I always loved the name Thomas. Unfortunately my best friend has one already so it's out! (I was secretly seething when she named him, she wasn't to know!)

I like Thomas itself but also the choice of Tommy/Tom as NN.

What other names spring to mind? I'm really struggling!

We don't actually know the Gender but to consider both at once is a bit much lol

I have a Ben Thomas.

I have a Thomas. My Tom is named after his great grandad. If the name fits
then who cares 😊

RoryLeighGilmore · 23/03/2019 17:47

Something equally as wet... William? Benjamin?

Soozikinzi · 23/03/2019 17:51

I agree with previous poster if you like the name Thomas you should have Thomas . I am biased since my 34 year old son is called Thomas Arthur Patrick and he still likes his nam e! My other sons are Jacob Ashley , Samuel Aaron Matthew , Joseph Aloysius , Alexander Raymond, Jack William Asa if that's any use ! But stick to your guns I'd say xx

Nousernameforme · 23/03/2019 18:25

I think you should go for tom too. But if not how about Christopher i always pair those two together no idea why

Thanks 😁

I guess I just thought it would be a bit weird using the same name. Does nobody else??

Joseph is another one I've always thought was nice. My dad doesn't like it, evident by his face when I mentioned it. I did respond to him with "well it's not your baby" though, I'm not fussed what other people think. Which is lucky, because it means I couldn't give a monkeys if people think it's a bit "wet" either.
I don't find it wet at all, but then my opinions on names are usually based on people I've known - I work with children and it's funny how names you never liked can suddenly seem lovely and vice versa. I couldn't have a Joshua unfortunately 😂

Also adding James and Christopher to the list.

@Soozikinzi you have a lot of sons :)

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2019 19:49

If you love Thomas I think you should go for it, even if your friend has one. If it was close family it would be different, but the same name as a friend is fine. It's a lovely name, not in the least bit 'wet'. I really like James, Joseph & Christopher too.
