Thoughts on Hebe?

This has been my favourite girls’ name for a while but would love to hear your opinions! I’m hesitant because I suspect a lot of my family and friends wouldn’t be huge fans. I originally read it in a novel but it’s apparently the name of the Greek goddess of youth (and a shrub Grin)

Would people confuse it with Phoebe?

Does anyone know a Hebe?

Any similar names I might like?

I love Hebe, it's like Phoebe but cuter and more unusual. Since I had boys, it's very high up on my dog name list Grin

I know one in her twenties. Very cool, quite posh. It’s definitely a name that suggests money. I thought it was a bit unusual first time I heard it but not afterwards.

Funnily enough, Hebe was the answer to a crossword clue I had earlier this morning!

The clue was "Olympian cup bearer - evergreen garden shrub"

It makes me think of heeby-jeebies. I doubt that's helpful...

I love Hebe as a name. Wasn’t there a character in the wonderful novels of Mary Wesley called Hebe?

I have never, ever heard it used as a racist / derogatory term. Where is that common?

Hit post too soon. I realize now it wasn’t, and it’s a perfectly fine name, but it definitely will have those connotations for some people.

I like it. It's quite a well known plant, so it shouldn't cause that much confusion.
