3 letter boy's names

31 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and driving myself nuts over his name. The only one that we both really like is Leo, but it's becoming so popular where I live. I don't mind popular, timeless names (e.g. Alexander, Jack etc) but don't want one that connects too much to a certain generation. Is Leo too faddy?

So as it seems we've taken a liking to 3 letter names, and in the interest of narrowing down our options, I would love to hear your favourites!

Gus. Though it would surely be better to give your son a long name, which can be shortened as you (and, later, he and his friends) see fit?

Thanks for the replies so far. Just hoping something jumps out at me.

NTitled I'm not generally a fan of giving a long name for that reason. I'd be happy to choose a long name that I would use and if he or his pals naturally shorten it then so be it, but if I'm going to call him exclusively by the shortened version then that's what I would register him as. I like Ben, for example, and would call him Ben, so don't see the point in Benjamin. We have a DS already with a 3 letter name that is a name in its own right but is also a shortened version of a few longer names. Think Sam, instead of Samuel/Samson etc (don't want to out myself with his actual name).

Oh I really like Rex, but I'm a vet and wonder if it's too much of a dog's name?! Not that I come across many Rex's at work tbf.
