I like Harriet a lot but does it sound too dated especially in US? For Morgana, I'm kinda scared of people mispronouncing it. I'm also open for any suggestion, THANKSSS:)

Harriet is ok. I don't think it's dated. It's classic but quite common in UK today.
I don't like Morgana at all and don't think it goes with Harriet.
My favorite names are Alice, Marnie and Heidi. I also like Eliza and Eloise.

GinaCarbonara · 04/03/2019 09:24

I love Morgana. I only know one and it's a great, unusual name.

mondaysaturday · 04/03/2019 09:26

I love Morgana but it doesn't really go with Harriet imo. I'm not sure how people would mispronounce Morgana?

LOVE Morgana!!! And I do like Harrie... but I dont think they go together? Morgana is such a strong queenly name and Harriet is more pretty and sweet sounding.
I'd go with Morgana as a first name as I think it's just beautiful and very underused.

PrismGuile · 04/03/2019 09:43

Harriet is hideous.

Morgan's is amazing but the darkly wonderful name it is means that tacking on plain and boring Harriet ruins it.

JaneGroves · 04/03/2019 09:45

@mondaysaturday actually the name comes from my BFF and there are pronunciations like "morg-ann-uh" or "morg-on-uh" according to her

@BlueMerchant Yea I've heard it's pretty common in UK, but it's totally different in US. I only know one so far lol.

I really like Harriet and dislike Morgana (id pronounce Mor-gah-na

JaneGroves · 04/03/2019 09:54

@Ribbonsonabox Harriet is spunky and tomboyish imo, I think they're both pretty strong.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The only pronunciation I'm aware of is Mor-GAH-nah. But I'm not in the US, so your mileage may vary.

Ribbonsonabox · 04/03/2019 10:12

Harriet just makes me think of the character in Jane Austens Emma.... who is a little bit of a wet blanket... Haha so that's why I think of it as a less strong name I suppose!
Morgana makes me think of the Arthurian queen...

ReginaPhalange89 · 04/03/2019 10:32

I like Harriet but don't like Morgana. Don't think they go either !

Aethelthryth · 04/03/2019 10:34

Morgana is awful. She is the wicked witch in the King Arthur stories.

I like Harriet

TheWashingMachine · 04/03/2019 10:37

I'm not a fan of Morgana but Harriet is lovely.

Ribbonsonabox · 04/03/2019 10:41

Shes not a wicked witch! Shes Arthur's protector in the original stories... she has been used as an antagonist in more recent versions but I think shes a great strong female role model because shes such a complex character compared to other representations of women at the time....
Morgan was on my list for dd lol I love Arthurian legends. We went with Isuelt in the end.

Saffronandrosewater · 04/03/2019 11:10

Harriet as first name. But I live in the UK so Harriet is very popular here. Morgana sounds made up and from the name Morgan which I dislike because it sounds like a surname.

GemmaXOX · 04/03/2019 11:12

I quite like Harriet, but Morgana!? sounds like a Disney villian.

Not a fan of Morgana at all. And when shes got friends will the call her Morg for short (uhm, Morgue!)

MikeUniformMike · 04/03/2019 11:23

Harriet Morgana

Sophronia · 04/03/2019 12:40

Harriet Morgana

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 04/03/2019 12:53

Harriet. Morgana is terrible, sorry.

daisypond · 04/03/2019 13:03

Harriet, though I'm not wildly keen. Morgana looks odd. The old name Morgan is better, and I quite like that.

SweetButaPsycho · 04/03/2019 14:06

Love Morgana and even Morgan. Think they are strong and mystical sounding and makes me think of a firey, intelligent girl. Harriet seems a bit dorky by comparison
