Spare Jemima there. It should be second from bottom.

Tabitha is such a Marmite name - I love it, I have one, it's a family name (not trying hard to be quirky 😁)

We've a cousin called Matilda

I love Jemima too and Beatrice was on our list.

  1. Anna. Gorgeous simple classic name. My favourite ever.
  2. Nina. Also gorgeous, simple and classic. Really like it.
  1. Jemima. . Nice sounding name and relatively unusual. Apparently it can be a problematic name in the US (google 'Aunt Jemima') but that's not the case over here.
  1. Tabitha. Quite like the sound of it, but can't help associating it with cats (Mrs Tabitha Twitchet in Beatrix Potter's Tale of Tom Kitten).
Plus the natural nickname would seem to be Tabby, which is a bit of a problem.
  1. Tilda (Matilda). It's OK (never mind about the rice) but Matilda seems to be very popular just now, and I do find it a bit meh.
  2. Bea (Beatrice). Is Bea pronounced as Bee? I know Beatrice seems to have become popular, but I don't really like it. I find the English pronunciation (beer-triss) unattractive, sorry.

Not keen on the last two at all*

This^ except I also can't think of Tilda as a name for some reason! I like Mati, Tilly is ok, but Tilda just doesnt work for me.
That said I've known lots of people choose names that have caused me to make a bit of a Confused face (inwardly), but that I end up really liking just because they grow to suit the child. (Same reason I've gone off some names I used to think were perfectly lovely 😂)

SweetheartNeckline · 10/03/2019 07:03

They're not really to my taste, but I do like Anna and Matilda (prefer Mattie or Tilly nicknames though).
