Not sure if I'm posting to the correct place (this will be my first post)
My partner and I have managed to settle on a girls name (Ashleigh Olivia) but if we have a boy we are going to be stuck! We have 3 we like, but none of them really stand out for me. Please help!

George - I do really like but I keep hearing it everywhere! Especially now we have the young Prince, George and I realise now that is also the name of Peppa Pig's little brother
Charlie - we both love this name but I didn't know if people still associate cocaine being called "charlie"
Jesse - another name we both really like but I didn't know if I'd be setting him up to be bullied with what most people would consider is a girls name. And I didn't know if Jesse sounded too American?
The middle name will be Connor and so I'm struggling to find names that ring well with that!
Thanks for any advice

I like George best out of your list. I wouldn't care about Peppa Pig. There might be a bit of royal popularity about it, but it's a nice name.
Charlie - is a bit cutesy for my taste, but I could come round to it. I wouldn't think of cocaine. More Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Jesse - OK. It's a bit "surfer dude" for my taste.

Jesse 100000000%!!

BlueMerchant · 27/02/2019 16:24

Charlie Connor is a gorgeous name. I'd never have thought of cocaine,- at all.
George Connor is ok. Just not sure.
Jesse is a bit American/Aussie hunk to me.

Slightly different spelling but the meaning of jessie would put me off: jessie in British
(ˈdʒɛsɪ )
noun
derogatory, slang
an effeminate, weak, or cowardly boy or man

I have a Charlie so I’m biased but I love it. I also really like Jesse actually. Hadn’t ever thought of it myself but it’s nice!

Ccec · 27/02/2019 17:13

I'm biased too as I also have a Charlie, so would have to vote for that! Some say it's too popular but I've never had that problem and my son loves his name, which was important to me as I've always hated mine! I also like George so that would be second vote ☺

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/02/2019 17:21

Charlie is the best.

I don’t dislike Jesse but for me it’s just too feminine with so many girl Jessica’s/Jessie’s/Jess about.

Susannach · 27/02/2019 17:47

Love Jesse!

George is the standout for me. And George Connor works well. Charlie is my 2nd choice. I really dislike Jesse, sounds American and 'country hick' to me. And both Charlie and Jess/Jessie are also popular for girls and I don't tend to like unisex sounds so much.

Thankyou everybody, hearing people's opinions is really helpful! Grin

Charlie - Charles on bc is lovely.
George - fine.
Jesse - no.

kaytee87 · 28/02/2019 14:48

God don't call him Jesse. It's an insult where I come from

serenawren · 28/02/2019 17:08

Love Jesse!!!!

dolphin50 · 28/02/2019 21:57

charlie sounds lovely. Its my sons name. It makes me think of a happy, gentle, cheeky and kind boy. Theres a book called private peaceful by michael morpurgo and the boy charlie in it is a loving protective brother and it made me love the name even more

George sounds quite a big name on a baby but my best guy friend is called Georgie and i love it for that reason.

I love Jesse for a boy. Its the name of the boy from free willy and of the uncle in full house and it sounds sweet. My husband is called Jem, short for James which is quite similar. My other son is called Sam which i also love
