Amelise or Ameline and middle name choice - please help ;)

I'm trying to honor my grandma Ama with a variation of her name for my daughter. After much thought and many names ruled out (I dont want any confusion with Emily or Amelia), I'm down to Amelise and Ameline. I got a lot of criticism for Amelise even though I still find it so stunning. I'm struggling with middle name pairings if I go with Ameline instead.

Choices:

Amelise Madeleine
Ameline Madalie
Ameline Natalie
Ameline Loleta

Which do you prefer? Thank you much for the help!

I would probably do Madeleine for Amelise, Amia, or Amarlie.

If I go with Ameline I need middle name help because I dont think Madeleine works. Too rhymey. I think I like Lola or Natalie so far. I did like Lolette but does that sound too risque or bad?

After a lot of discussion, we decided to scrap the Ama names as first names and go with Harlow Ameline.

Harlow is becoming a bit trendy but it sounds really good with our last name and trying to find the perfect Ame/Ama name has been making me so stressed out. As a first name I kept wanting to pronounce Ameline like Ame- line. Like waiting on line. Like Caroline. That isnt even correct! Its pronounced Ama-leen. So I just decided it would go better as a middle name. I still love Amelise but no one else seemed to.

I think I'm actually good with Harlow Ameline.

Why not use Ama.

StellaRae · 28/02/2019 10:37

Ameline Lola is my favourite.
I guess it may be misheard as Amelie though (also a beautiful name).
I really don't like Amelise sorry!

kaytee87 · 28/02/2019 14:55

I second just using Ama. It's nicer than the made up names (and Harlow in my opinion)

Antonin · 28/02/2019 16:29

OP I’m surprised you prefer Harlow over Marlow, given your other preferences.
No matter what you decide I’m sure she’ll be a gorgeous baby

MikeUniformMike · 01/03/2019 14:14

I wouldn't use Harlow.
People will say 'is that with a silent t?' or pronounce it Arlo.

Amara?

UnderMajorDomoMinor · 01/03/2019 21:11

She’s going to spend her whole life being mistaken for Annelise. Just call her your granny’s actual name or pick a real name rather than these inventions which just look bizarre, sorry.

AuntMarch · 02/03/2019 08:45

If grandma was just "Ama" why can't baby be?
I know an Amalia which is ok.

MumUnderTheMoon · 04/03/2019 19:25

Other Ama based names
Amari
Amarissa
Amaya
Amara
Amabelle
Amal

Bumblebeesmum · 05/03/2019 00:32

Have you considered Alma? I think that’s beautiful

Um, amylase is, to be specific, the enzyme found in saliva (spit). That could be unfortunate when her class realised.

Amaryllis would be a flower.
