I'm not advocating Evie either. At work I am surrounded by Matts, Mikes and Dave's which I think is dull. I'm all for unusual names but when people start making them up or picking adjectives?

Why do you care? You will have a nice boring name for your child. So leave others to name their children something more individual.

It's so personal not everyone is going to like the name you choose for your child.

I agree with MrPickles. Having been the "weird" one, I don't know why any parent would purposefully make a child's life extra-difficult if it could be avoided.

Luckily a lot of threads on here are clearly bullshit, so nothing to worry about Grin

@MrPickles73 if they're that judgmental over a name, then fuck them. They're probably awful to work for.

I'd like to think if the next 20 years people who have names that are different won't have to put 'John Smith' on their cv just to get the interview stage because of some judgemental penis beaker.

See how judgemental people are assuming myself or my kids have boring names. It's not the case but we do have ahem real names. But call your child bundle of twine. It's a good experiment ;-). I thought about names a lot when we had our kids.

Dd has a v unusual name and it's a pain spelling it out every time even though it is phonetic.
