Should I name my name baby ( which is on her way) Jaqueline or Suzanne?

Susannah!!

FluffyMunchkin · 12/02/2019 21:35

I quite like Jacqueline (if you spell it correctly).

OhTheRoses · 12/02/2019 21:40

I used to dream of being called Susan but I am 58 :). Susannah of course.

Those names will come around again I'm sure. Jocasta?

TortoiseLettuce · 12/02/2019 21:43

Suzanne, or possibly Suzannah. I once knew a girl called Suzannah who went by Zannah and I thought it was lovely.

CockleburIck · 13/02/2019 01:00

Well those names are both blasts from the not too distant past!

I like Jacqueline, but not its diminutives.

I know a Susannah which I prefer to Suzanne, and she’s called Suze rather than the frumpy Sue

RebeccaWrongDaily · 13/02/2019 01:58

my best friend is called Suzanne, My eldest DC (hipster) has it as her number one baby name. It'll come round again soon i'd imagine.

brookshelley · 13/02/2019 02:02

I was born in the 1980s and plenty of Suzannes and Jacquelines in school. Guess everything comes back into fashion!

Joeybee · 13/02/2019 02:03

Love that these are both names you hardly see used anymore, people will find them dated as they were popular for our generation and be one above.
Personally I prefer Suzanne and there's more nickname potential - sue, Suzi, Annie, Suki etc etc

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 13/02/2019 03:52

The two names together make me think Valley of the Dolls.

But yes to what everyone else has said - Susanna(h) is lovely and feels fresher than Suzanne. I actually really like Susan as well, and I think it will come round again as people start naming children after their grandmothers.

RebeccaCloud9 · 13/02/2019 04:23

Are you giving birth to a 50 year old?

MercyBodle · 13/02/2019 11:29

I really like Jacqueline (and nn Jackie). I like Susannah but not so much Suzanne.

Marcipex · 13/02/2019 11:41

Jacqueline.

Antonin · 13/02/2019 13:24

Suzette?

KarineAimee · 13/02/2019 13:57

I really like Jacqueline- I’ve known several and they’ve all been lovely. My housemate at uni went by Jacqui which I think is a nice shortening.

SquiddyMcSquidford · 13/02/2019 14:39

Suzanne nickname Suzy

Mscandylamb · 13/02/2019 14:41

Neither.

MikeUniformMike · 13/02/2019 14:41

Both dated. Susan or Susannah are nicer.

RiverTam · 13/02/2019 14:42

neither, bith very dated (and Jacqueline spelt wrong, not sure if that's intentional).

Susanna(h) better.

Pemba · 13/02/2019 15:36

Well Suzanne out of the two, but as pps say, Susanna/h is nicer.

I am sure that both Suzanne and Jacqueline will come back into fashion some day though, they are both nice names. It is just the 'dated' perception that puts people off.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/02/2019 15:52

Why those names? Are they after someone? Both names are very dated.

emilybrontescorsett · 13/02/2019 21:17

Jacqueline.

VinnythePanda · 13/02/2019 21:32

They’ll end up either Jacky or Sue. My mum’s name and my mother in law’s name. Very dated.

Ihavealwaysknown · 13/02/2019 23:20

I really like the idea of Jac for a girl (bit of a holby fan girl of jac Naylor)

So Jacqueline for me!

Sophronia · 14/02/2019 00:16

Suzanne, but Susanna would be better.

Avamore · 14/02/2019 11:00

I really like Susan. I think Suzanne and Susannanh are too old fashioned and dated.

I prefer Jocelyn to Jacqueline.
