For a French/British baby... I've asked about one or two specific names on the forum before, but things seem to be getting more, rather than less, complicated as due date approaches!

Alice
Charlotte (nn Lottie)
Clémence (nn Clemmie)
Clara
Inès
Rosalie/Rosaline (nn Rosie - bit reticent as DD middle name is Rose)

Thank you!

If you are in the uk, Clemence will be said as Clemons.

Littleloafofbread · 31/01/2019 15:24

It's okay, we're in France

In which case, it's pretty. Tres jolie!

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 16:44

Inès is gorgeous. It seems more special than the others.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 31/01/2019 16:45

Clemence is nice but I can’t stand Clemmie. Clara is good too.

Sophronia · 31/01/2019 21:46

Clemence or Ines

Littleloafofbread · 02/02/2019 14:13

Thanks very much everyone! Think we've narrowed it down to Clémence, Alice, Inès and Clara.

Stunning list. I am no help as I love them all!

Carouselfish · 02/02/2019 14:23

Ines and Clara. Both beautiful.

daisypond · 02/02/2019 14:32

I like Clémence. You'll need to keep the accent on it to help guide the Brits be able to pronounce it correctly. But I don't like Clemmie at all. Inès is nice too. Alice and Clara are both fine. I prefer Alice, though.

Bumblebeesmum · 04/02/2019 23:32

They are all lovely names but a French heritage means so much more potential to get away with stunning names I’d never be brave enough to pull off ! So from your list Ines wins hands down for me. But so many names would be beautiful with a French accent & still useable in English.
Elodie
Alianora
Amalie
Bernadette

Although anything in a French accent is pretty tbf. Your list is all lovely

confusedandcrazymother · 05/02/2019 01:16

Clara and Alice!

Celine is also another French/English option.

HappyGoLuckyGo · 05/02/2019 01:30

Clémence, Alice, Inès and Clara

I actually really like Alice, from that list. I love Inessa but am less keen on Inès, somehow. Clara is beautiful but feels clunkier than Alice. I really like Clèmence but I can see it being a headache to get right in the U.K., so maybe depends how international you expect your DD to be??

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

VenusClapTrap · 05/02/2019 19:40

I love Ines.

But if I had an excuse to choose a French name, it would be Marjolaine, which in my humble opinion is the most beautiful name ever.

dolphin50 · 09/02/2019 22:17

i love the name cozette which is french. a friend of mine had a baby cozette and she is called cozi pronounced cosy which i think is really sweet. sometimes the nickname coco is used too. her full name is cozette delilah rose. i think cozette sounds very feminine. it means victorious.

MerryMarigold · 09/02/2019 22:25

Dolphin, my dog is called Cosette nn Cosy! Also called Coco, Cocolini, Mimi etc. But I digress.

I don't like Ines. It's very of-the-moment (, particularly on MN). It didn't even sound nice. I like all the others, but probably Clara the most. I also like Anna and thinks it's in that vein.
