Sibling names - ending in same sound?

If we already have a Bridget can we use Harriet for dd2?

Or is having two names ending in ‘t’ a bit much?

Dd1 is mostly known as Bridie and we will probably call dd2 Hattie most of the time, so they’d also have nicknames that ended in the same sound.

Is that a no-no?

Fine I think

thatsmyspace · 30/01/2019 13:01

Of course they can, it's fine 😊

MikeUniformMike · 30/01/2019 13:05

Of course you can. Nice names. Bridie and Hattie too.

Ngaio2 · 30/01/2019 13:22

Fine, endings not very pronounced, anyway as they would be with an ette ending. Nice match, well chosen OP

daisypond · 30/01/2019 13:31

It's fine. In lots of countries it would be normal for girls' names, say, to end in similar sounds - eg, in Italy, lots of girls' names end in A, so you get Rosa, Anna, Maria, Alessandra, etc.

wornoutboots · 30/01/2019 13:46

all 3 of my children have names which end in N. (wasn't planned that way, just the names chosen happen to end with it)

it's fine. same initials is more problematic, I think

MummytoAF · 30/01/2019 13:47

I've got an Archie and about to have a Freddie. No problem imo

SaunceyWood · 30/01/2019 16:35

Bridget and Harriet go together beautifully - I don’t think it’s an issue at all.

If you had a Bridget, Harriet and a Juliet, now that might be slightly too many ‘t’ endings!

starkid · 30/01/2019 16:48

Yep no problem, and both lovely names :)

GB54 · 30/01/2019 20:30

They sound lovely together.

Bayleyf · 30/01/2019 20:35

Lovely names. Go for it!

DramaAlpaca · 30/01/2019 20:37

It's fine. They sound good together.

Astronica · 01/02/2019 22:31

Really lovely names, and I don't think there's a problem with the endings. The names having different syllables helps too, eg Bridget and Scarlett feel more alike to me because both 2 syllables.

MumUnderTheMoon · 02/02/2019 10:46

I really don't like it I think they sound like part of a set.

ChippyMinton · 02/02/2019 10:49

Fine. Mine all have a similar sound, never really noticed tbh.
