Two middle names

Thoughts on having two middle names?
DD has one (longish) middle name but we are considering two for DD due to the chosen first name and middle name not flowing together and needing another middle name to break them up.

I think its fine.
I know a few people -
George Thomas James
Oliver Thomas John
Michaela Danielle Ann
Cassandra Amanda Kelly
Kelsey tina marie
Holly Irene Susan
Ashley Stephen Russell
Elizabeth Diana Jade
Alexandra bonnie Kay
Alice Lucy Emily
Tamsin Sony Carmella
Francesca joanne camille
I know lots of people with 2 middle names! Young, old and babies!

my DD has two and i think (combined with a double barrelled surname) it's way too long, but we couldnt compromise on one name as both meaningful to each of us

I have two and it has never been an issue for me however a friend of mine also has two middle names coupled with a very long surname. Until she got married and lost her maiden name she struggled to complete forms as there was never enough space - something to consider as I know it caused her a lot of hassle.

My dd has a long first name and 2 middle names.
One ds also has 2 and others just 1.
Last dc has no mn as ran out of ideas by him!

I think if one has a mn then the other should get one.
How about your gran's name or something.
You could use a name that you like but is a bit impractical as a first name.
Or you could use your (nee) surname if the child will be using the father's surname.
Or if your chosen first name is a bit unisex (e.g. Riley, Harper, Charley, Kelsey) you could give a definitely girl's name (Rose, Margaret, ...)as a middle name.

Dd has two names. Both short though (as is her first name) as we have ridiculous long surname.

Two of my kids have two middle names, the other two have only one. It's fine Grin

I have 2 middle names and never found it to be an issue, although I'm now married and have a double barrelled surname, so now finding my full name a bit long!

RuthW · 24/01/2019 13:21

Three names are great. My dd has three however if your other child only has two it's not fair.

My dd has two middle names (Kate Elise), although DS only has one; I knew I couldn’t have any more children so I just wanted to use up the names I liked. I was in school with a girl called Naomi Ann Elizabeth Surname and I was always a bit jealous of her ‘extra’ name.

My youngest son has two middle names because we'd already chosen one and then my dad died in between him being born and us registering him so we added his name in too.

His names aren't really long 7, 6, 3, 9 but it looks really long on all the letters we get especially since it starts parent/guardian of.
