Hannah or Lara.
I don't like Tara. Even though it's pretty much the same as Lara it somehow sounds a lot harsher to me.

Cbeebiesrehab · 14/01/2019 08:58

Lara 100%

Jaz32 · 14/01/2019 08:59

@Milasmummy what about Zara? I think that’s pretty. If not I prefer Lara out of your choices

ZebraKid71 · 14/01/2019 10:34

Tara or Hannah.

Lara is OK but I prefer Laura.

Maya is too popular in my area at the moment.

MikeUniformMike · 14/01/2019 11:00

Hannah or Lara. Tara is nice but I thought 1980s too. Don't like Maya or Maia much.
Selene is how I would spell it.

tammytoby · 14/01/2019 11:53

Celine or Celina

Twickerhun · 14/01/2019 12:14

Hannah not Celine etc

StarrySky7 · 14/01/2019 14:01

Tara is not a dog's name!

Hannah is so bland and wet.
Tara is dull and 80s.
Maya is okay. A bit boring.

But Lara is amazing! Elegant and timeless.

Lumpy76 · 14/01/2019 14:05

@StarrySky7 being an almost 43 yr old called Lara I’ll take your comment as a complement. 😊☺️

CruCru · 14/01/2019 15:07

Hannah is lovely.

Then Lara then Tara. I’ve heard loads of Mayas (being shouted at in the supermarket) - it doesn’t sound nice in my hometown accent.

Sophronia · 14/01/2019 15:19

Lara or Hannah

StarrySky7 · 14/01/2019 15:37

@Lumpy76 It's a lovely name. I'd love to be called Lara!

DramaAlpaca · 14/01/2019 15:39

Tara then Lara for me.

Pemba · 14/01/2019 16:07

Lara and Maya/Maia are both absolutely lovely.

After that I'd put Selina or Celine. Or how about Serena?
Hannah is nice, but has been used so much the last 30 years or more it does seem a little dull. Anyway I prefer Anna, which is one of my very favourite names.
Tara I don't like so much, nothing wrong with it, just not as nice as the others.

uhtredsonofuhtred · 14/01/2019 16:15

Lara,Tara is my least favourite from your list

Kione · 14/01/2019 16:16

How about Amaia?

gambaspilpil · 14/01/2019 16:17

I have a Hannah over here and it is a palindrome too! I only know one selina and I like he name

toolazytothinkofausername · 14/01/2019 16:21

I always said if I had a girl I would have called her Hannah. Instead I had 2 boys.

BBInGinDrinking · 14/01/2019 16:21

Hello again, OP. I'm not keen on Celine and Selina, so they don't change things for me. As you like those names, do you also like Serena? I have a soft stop for Serena. Lara Serena, Tara Serena, Serena Lara, Serena Tara? Too many very traditionally named boys in our house, so I'm enjoying this!

Milasmummy · 14/01/2019 19:17

BBInGinDrinking and Pemba oh I do love Serena but DH is put off because of some girls he went to school with that name and because if Serena Williams. But I do think it’s so elegant and more my style! My DH is more into the classic 4 letter 2 syllable names such as Lara/Hannah/Tara etc . Trying to make myself fall in love with them but frillier multi-syllabic names are more my style, but he’s not having it! Lol. I got away with with Amelia for dd1!

Lara or Hannah if we have a girl I want her to be called lara

Milasmummy · 14/01/2019 19:29

Someone posted this exact question...including the exact wording on netmums...how peculiar!? Though interested to see if there’s a difference in overall answers !

In order of preferences:
Celine
Lara
Hannah.
I love Maya/Maia but there do seem to be a lot of little girls being given this name.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/01/2019 19:53

Love Lara.

KirstyT11 · 14/01/2019 22:59

All of those names are on my very long girls list. I like lara the most!
