And if Adriana would you spell it this way or Adrianna

Adriana = Sopranos.

Sorry.

WrapAndRoll · 11/01/2019 12:58

Georgiana.

Adriana reminds me of Adrian, which I don't like, and drains.

Aprilshowerswontbelong · 11/01/2019 12:59

Prefer Georgia or Anna.
Not mixed together.

CruCru · 11/01/2019 13:49

How would you pronounce Georgiana? I used to think it was how it was spelled but I understand that the Duchess of Devonshire used to pronounce it Georg -eye- an. Would it annoy you if someone pronounced it that way?

DammitOedipus · 11/01/2019 13:52

Adriana.

Georgiana sounds pretentious to me.

CruCru · 11/01/2019 13:53

Sorry, Georg-eye-na. Autocorrect.

Mylittlegirl234 · 11/01/2019 14:10

I would pronounce it George-EE-ah-na if that makes sense?
I’ve never seen Sopranos so didn’t realise there was a character called Adriana.

I much prefer Adriana!

FayFortune · 11/01/2019 14:13

I don't like Adriana at all.
So between the two I'd choose Georgiana.

Antonia?
Anna?

TatianaLarina · 11/01/2019 15:04

Georgiana

MikeUniformMike · 11/01/2019 16:19

Georgiana is pronounced George-aina or Georgy-ahna.
People will also say Georgie-anna.
It will get mixed up with Georgina.
Adriana will get Aid-ree-ahna, adrian-uh, Ad-ree-ahna, Aidree-anna etc.
I wouldn;t use either of them. Too long.

GlossyTaco · 11/01/2019 16:22

Georgiana every time. I'm a big P and P fan and love that name.

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/01/2019 16:25

Adriana, I have a lovely SIL with this name, she's Brazilian and goes by Drica for short.

Harebellmeadow · 11/01/2019 16:27

George-ay-nah was the fashionable pronounciation amongst the upper classes of the day, especially those with Whig tendancies. The film pronounciation is reflective of the the Duchess being the top Influencer of her day and setting herself apart with an elite and rare pronounciation of what was not otherwise such a rare name.
Today is it back to Georgie-aana except for the niche pedants.

tammytoby · 11/01/2019 16:32

Adriana is beautiful and no longer than say Isabella, Antonia or Anastasia. Lovely name!

MikeUniformMike · 11/01/2019 17:56

Or Elizabeth or Alexandra.
Izzy/Bella, Toni/Tonia, Ana/Stacey
and the many diminutives of Elizabeth and Alexandra.
You can insist on the full name, but you can't guarantee that everyone will use it.

Astronica · 13/01/2019 06:53

I like both, but prefer Georgiana. I love all the George names.

Shadow1234 · 14/01/2019 08:45

Prefer Adriana

I prefer Georgiana.

Josico58 · 14/01/2019 09:51

Both are beautiful but are you or DP of Italian descent? I feel like both names could only be pulled off by Italian/Sicilian person.

Otherwise Adrianna would just sound like her parents were fans of The Sopranos.

TatianaLarina · 14/01/2019 10:07

Georgiana is not an Italian name.

tammytoby · 14/01/2019 11:56

How about Georgina?
