I have a (summer born) Autumn and we still love her name!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/01/2019 19:52

Violet is the only one I would choose

user1494055864 · 07/01/2019 19:56

I would use all 3 in that order!!!! They sound lovely together!

bearfood · 07/01/2019 20:49

One of my DDs is Autumn and was born in February. Always have compliments on her name and now she is a young adult she loves it.

MarchInHappiness · 07/01/2019 21:31

Love Autumn. Easy to spell and pronounce but not common, much more unique than Summer imo.

I use to love Ava, I thought it was a very nice unique name when Reese Witherspoon named her daughter that 20 years ago. But its so overused now, worsened by all the Evas and Evies.

I really do not like Violet as it seems to old fashioned, also rising in popularity.

Sophronia · 09/01/2019 11:11

Autumn

Honeybee79 · 09/01/2019 13:40

Autumn but only if she will be born then.

chocolatefoxes · 10/01/2019 00:42

Autumn

Ava

moredoll · 10/01/2019 00:44

Autumn
Ava

Prefer Autumn if the baby is actually born in the autumn.

Ava
Autumn

Not wildly keen on any, I'm afraid. Violet is just a small aggressive weed to me. Ava is very bland and forgettable. Autumn is a bit...off field for my tastes. Maybe Violet, if I had to pick.

rosealltheway · 10/01/2019 11:08

Violet miles ahead at the top, followed by them both at equal place.

Ava is lovely but too overused. Autumn sounds nice but then when you think about it, would you REALLY want to be called this? Me its nope, so wouldn't put this on a daughter either. To me its very much a season and I cant see it as an actual name.

MommyShark89 · 12/01/2019 23:57

Oh my goodness, Violet please!!

Piggyhoolier · 13/01/2019 00:05

Omg these were all in my top 5, I went with Violet in the end - on grounds Ava had become v popular and she was a spring baby so I wasn’t confident naming her Autumn would work. If she’d had red hair though I would have still used Autumn as a nod to her colouring...I do have red hair so it wasn’t a real long shot or anything Grin

Ribbonsonabox · 13/01/2019 00:07

Autumn is gorgeous. I love Violet too and I do like Ava but its incredibly overused at the moment.

So personally I'd ho with Autumn.

charlottetaylor93 · 13/01/2019 09:36
  1. Violet
  2. Autumn
  3. Ava

Violet is one of my favourite names! Ava is too common now I think.

RuthW · 13/01/2019 10:52

Autumn
Violet although a bit popular
Ava. Ok if you want to be one of 6 in a class.

When at primary school, 20% of the girls in dd's year were called Emily.

percheron67 · 13/01/2019 10:55

Not keen on any. Particularly Autumn when pronounced the American way - Adumn.

ladybee28 · 13/01/2019 10:56

The only Violet I've ever come across is Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so as a big Roald Dahl fan from tiny childhood, I have very negative, long-standing associations with that name! Also a bit close to 'Violent' for me.

But it seems everyone else loves it, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt!

Of the three, I like Ava best.

TatianaLarina · 13/01/2019 14:38

Violet Trefusis, Violet Bonham Carter, Violette Szabo?

DramaAlpaca · 13/01/2019 14:41

Ava, Violet, Autumn in that order.

Lemurville · 27/01/2019 18:45

Autumn, Violet, Ava. Good luck! x

KiplingAngelCake · 28/01/2019 12:22

Violet (by a mile), Ava, Autumn.

Butterfly84 · 28/01/2019 13:36

Anything but Violet: violent, Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And it's a very wet name.

Ava and Autumn are both lovely.
