What do you think? And is there a 'full' name that should be on the BC?

the full version of frank is Franklin i believe which means free land owner

ShadyLady53 · 01/01/2019 19:14

Love Franklin nn Frank!

DramaAlpaca · 01/01/2019 19:14

I don't like Frank at all.

However, it's a diminutive of Francis which is is great, strong classic name so I'd put that on the birth certificate.

ZebraKid71 · 01/01/2019 19:14

I'd go Francis or Franklin officially, but I really like it.

Petalflowers · 01/01/2019 19:15

I know a teen Frankie.

MorningsEleven · 01/01/2019 19:16

I have a Frankie, often called Frank Franks at school. Love it.

CoatTails · 01/01/2019 19:16

Love Frank!

lozengeoflove · 01/01/2019 19:45

Francis nn Frank. Great name!

daisypond · 01/01/2019 20:27

It's short for Francis, which isn't my particular cup of tea, but it's a perfectly fine name. I'd put Francis on the BC rather than Frank, but I do like Frank or Frankie (for a younger child).

Sophronia · 01/01/2019 20:32

It’s short for Francis

WrapAndRoll · 01/01/2019 20:38

Francis is a good solid saint's name. Franklin is too surnamey and sounds like a girls name with the "lin" ending.

SuperstarDJ · 01/01/2019 20:40

I quite like it. I Would do Francis or Franklin on the bc though.

wasthis · 02/01/2019 09:43

I really think I've set my heart on Frank now! Finally!

And I really like Franklin but I'll probably just go with Frank on the BC because it's a well known and solid name by itself.

I love Frank and would definitely use it as it stands, just Frank. Traditionally it was sometimes a short form of Francis or Franklin, neither of which I like. Frank has been used as a name in it's own right for a long time though.

FishCanFly · 02/01/2019 12:11

YES!

Belindabauer · 02/01/2019 16:09

Awful. Old fashioned.
I knew a family when I was growing up and both the dad and one of the sons were called Frank. The mother had trouble pronouncing it so it always came out as "Fwank".

MikeUniformMike · 02/01/2019 16:14

Franklin seems a bit american. It's usually short for Francis, which is quite classic.

KikoMino · 02/01/2019 21:24

I really like it. Prefer Franklin to Francis.

longnight · 02/01/2019 21:28

Ds1 middle name is Frank it was after a very dear relative of mine. Frank was on his bc.

starzig · 03/01/2019 09:56

Surely his name should go on the birth certificate. Not a random extension that you will never use.

lazymare · 03/01/2019 10:06

No

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/01/2019 10:14

Frank is a preferred name by DP for dc3, I'm not convinced..
Good to see others views on it..

recently · 03/01/2019 10:17

The full name is Frankincense because he smelled so sweet. Wink

mfpsamzy133 · 03/01/2019 10:19

Lazymare really is living up to their name there
