Using the girls name you didn’t get to use last time?

Just a quick Q for your thoughts. When DC1 was born, we didn’t find out the sex. We had a boy’s name and a girl’s name picked out, but of course only one got used (the boys!)

Now pregnant with DC2, we still like the girl’s name we liked with DS. However part of me associates it with him and I’m not sure about using it for DC2.

What would you do? Smile

I've had different girl/boy names picked out for all my four. It felt to me like that ship had sailed IYSWIM although for DC 3 and 4 we didn't have final names picked out until they were born just shortlists which did have some of the same names on them.

PIL had the same girls name until they finally got to use it. They certainly treat her like the much anticipated prize child!

What politicianspraisemyname said,...and probably more. I’d start again... different baby, different names. It’s like the ghost that never was first time round if u keep the name associated with your first child.

Good luck.

LokiDokiArtichoki congratulations on your pregnancy! You must be due a couple of weeks after me. Hope you’re feeling ok and enjoying the second trimester.

“the ghost that never was” is a good way to summarise my thoughts on it! But it’s such a lovely name haha
