Hi all!

We have just found out we are having another girl and stuck between 2 names and want others opinions.

Our 3 year old is called Evie.

We're stuck between Hattie or Ava.

Which goes best with Evie?

Hattie, absolutely.

Evie and Ava are variations of the same name! Evie is a diminutive of Eve or Eva. Ava originated from the phonetic spelling of the German pronunciation of Eva! You would essentially be giving both your daughters the same name.

So for that reason, (plus the fact that Ava is much too popular now) I would go for Hattie.

Ava and Evie are far too similar!

But Hattie really isn’t nice. Sounds like a name a dc would get teased for.

What about Ada or Adele

Hattie. Ava is too similar.

Hattie

It’s the ‘eeeeee’ sound at the end
When you call them they won’t hear the beginning of the word just the end.

Happened constantly with my sister and I. Drove us crazy, never knew who was being hollered at!

The ‘aye’ at the start of Ava and the ‘eeeee’ at the start of Evie are totally different sounds so I don’t think Ava and Evie are similar apart from the v sound.

So I still think Ava.

I don't think Evie and Ava sound too similar at all, and I think they sound very cute together. Ava would be my choice. E names do seem to 'go well' with other vowel names

Ava is miles nicer than Hattie. Hattie would have to be Harriet for me and it's such a wet name. What about Ada?
