I posted earlier about Indian names and we have some current favourites. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the names in general, how you’d pronounce them, and if anything looks problematic with nicknames and such.

Lakshmi/Laxmi
Shivani
Priyanka

Thanks!

I like all except Laxmi asI work in a dispensary and it sounds like a drug.

I would pronounce them as the others have said.

Why Indian names? Are you Indian or just like the names? I find them hard to read/pronounce.

Sorry but this comment has irked me. Why the assumption that this is some kind of cultural appropriation? Plenty of us on MN are from different cultures and plenty of us on MN are not white. Do we need to explain this in our OPs because it doesn’t fit in with your thought process? I don’t see this on any of the “Christian” name threads.

I met a Shreya once and thought her name was beautiful. All soft sounds rolled together.

Thanks for the alternate suggestions. We are fairly set on one of these three but I’ll add them to our list in case we ever have another.
