We have come up with two names we like for a little boy, I don't care if you guys are harsh i just want to hear opinions.
The name would be either Marlow Thomas or Marshall William, the middle names are family names.

Glanced at the title and thought you said Marsh mallow!

FamilyOfAliens · 22/12/2018 09:26

Don’t like either, sorry OP.

But then I’m not a fan of surnames as first names as a rule

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/12/2018 09:27

Ha ha, so did I, Speaking. Grin

CatkinToadflax · 22/12/2018 09:30

I know a baby Marlow and I must admit I was a bit Hmm when I first heard his name. I used to live near Marlow and couldn’t really work out why anyone would call their child that (lovely town though!). But it’s really grown on me over the past few months. He’s a lovely little boy = lovely name! Smile

I’ll get back to you on Marshall when I’ve met one and got to know them! Grin

No to Marshall as it's PawPateol character and a surname.

I have heard of a baby called Marlow but a girl so for me has female connotations. I wouldn't choose it personally.

Is it a M you're looking for?

ColdCrumpetsandButter · 22/12/2018 09:50

*PawPatrol !

daisypond · 22/12/2018 11:03

I'm not keen on either, but Marlow is better than Marshall - that just makes me think of an American law enforcement officer (yes, it's spelled differently). Might as well just call him Sheriff.

Toffeeandyawns · 22/12/2018 11:04

Marlow I really like Arlo though but I’m guessing you’ve ruled that out.

Didyeeaye · 22/12/2018 13:09

I prefer Marshall out of the two but not really liking either if I'm honest

Didyeeaye · 22/12/2018 13:12

What about Mitchell? It's similar style and Mitch is a cute nickname

MikeUniformMike · 22/12/2018 13:17

Not keen on either but OK as middle names.
Marshall will be called Marsh which is a bit boggy.
Marlow is a pretty town in Buckinghamshire.

Torsz · 22/12/2018 13:22

I think Marshall is cute. Didn't know about paw patrol but that won't be around forever!

Theweasleytwins · 22/12/2018 13:29

Marshall is the annoying dog in paw patrol to meAngry

Bloomburger · 22/12/2018 13:45

Dreadful both of them.

Marlow is a girls name and a place in Bucks and Marshall is just plain ridiculous.

I'd be embarrassed to say to my friends my grandson was called either.

moredoll · 23/12/2018 07:05

Marshall = Paw Patrol
Marlow is nice

ForAMinuteThere · 23/12/2018 07:21

I think of Marlow as a girls name.

Ohyesiam · 23/12/2018 07:23

Both ok as middle mames( or surnames!)

TidyDancer · 23/12/2018 14:57

Thomas and William are both lovely. Marlow and Marshall, being kind, are not to my taste at all. Also Marlo(w) Thomas is an actress.

babysharkah · 23/12/2018 16:21

Marshal - paw patrol

Marlow - dog

FartnissEverbeans · 24/12/2018 01:28

I like both actually. I’ve heard Marlow more on girls (usually spelled Marlowe or Marlo) but I think it works for a boy too. Marshall is unexpected and a bit cool. I think I like it best.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 24/12/2018 01:31

There's a very famous American actress named Marlo Thomas! Grin

Agree that the name Marshall is blighted by the current Paw Patrol craze. Sorry!

DramaAlpaca · 24/12/2018 01:35

Both are surnames to me. I wouldn't mind them as middle names but really don't like them as first names.

I've only heard of Marlow/e as a girls' name, btw, so I have trouble seeing it as a name for a boy.

ThatPlanWorked · 24/12/2018 09:58

I think Marshall is a stronger name. Paw Patrol won’t last forever :)

SnowyPaws5 · 24/12/2018 15:27

Marlow is better than Marshall but what about Marley? I love Marley.
