I've just seen this suggested on another thread and wondered what the consensus is? Blos/Blossy for short?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
maras2 · 05/12/2018 22:25

Ahh, don't be so daft,
Blossom, my arse.Smile

lebkuchenlover · 05/12/2018 23:16

Reminds me of Bottom. Not very feminine

CherryValance · 05/12/2018 23:22

Blowsy blossom and her bovine bosom ...not keen, sorry. But I'm sure in real life she'd carry the name etc etc.

villainousbroodmare · 05/12/2018 23:47

Even for a horse, it would only suit a heavy-legged, slow, sweet-but-thoroughly- unathletic horse.

Conventicle · 05/12/2018 23:49

Agree with Scrambled. It’s a cow’s name.

sonniboo · 06/12/2018 08:27

I'm not keen, sorry.

Flamingosnbears · 06/12/2018 10:27

Nothing stopping you from calling her your blossom but give her a proper name

SilverySurfer · 06/12/2018 15:35

Bloody awful.

AliCanTea · 06/12/2018 17:29

Makes me think of bosom and bottom sadly.

moredoll · 06/12/2018 17:30

Nope

6freerangeeggs · 06/12/2018 17:53

No. Imagine being a 40yo woman called Blossom.

MrsGollach · 06/12/2018 17:54

It's a cow's name.

MsTSwift · 06/12/2018 17:55

Would you as an adult woman like to be called Blossom? Imagine meeting a new group through work and introducing yourself as “Blossom your surname”. There’s your answer...

autumnkate · 06/12/2018 20:32

I love it.

Do you know the James Taylor song ‘Blossom’? Gorgeous.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 06/12/2018 21:18

I don’t think it’s particuarlly embarrassing- I wouldn’t like as a grown woman to say
“Hi I’m Rosie and this is my boyfriend Arthur”...but plenty will in 20years time

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 08/12/2018 13:20

For a cow, guinea pig or a rabbit - fine. Nothing or nobody else.

notpushyinterested · 08/12/2018 13:23

I know a blossom. It's a singularly inappropriate name.
Just....don't.

Ethelswith · 08/12/2018 13:30

One of the PE teachers when I was at school used to call us all Blossom as she couldn't be bothered to learn our names. It's hard for me to see it as a real person's real name after that

fartfacemcfartfaceface · 08/12/2018 13:33

I have a cat named blossom. She's a lovely cat if it makes any difference.

Discobabe98 · 08/12/2018 13:36

I know two wee girls called Blossom and Breeze. Whilst both are unusual I prefer Breeze, Blossom seems a bit twee

TetherEnding · 08/12/2018 13:42

No. No. No.

starzig · 08/12/2018 13:45

Blossom fine but blos? Really?

reallyanotherone · 08/12/2018 13:45

She will need a hat of you do use it.

tammytoby · 08/12/2018 13:57

Blossom is quite nice but please don't shorten it!

Fashionista101 · 08/12/2018 15:55

This was going to be my babies name if a girl (he wasn't) 4 years ago. I still love it but I do t think I'd choose it now, and I wouldn't have shortened it.

I was going to choose it because my Nan was in a home towards the end and her friend lived in the next room and was called Blossom, it always cheered me up when I saw it above her door Thanks
