Would you immediately think Kate and William or would you just think lovely name?
I have a tendancy to call my children by first and middle name together as think why have a middle name if you don't use it.
If so any other middle names you can suggest as don't want to use a family name, I like my child to be an individual not named after somebody. Another name I liked when pregnant with my son was Jacob. So another option would be Louis Jacob.
Thanks!

I immediately thought of Kate and William. I'm sorry!

Not so with Louis Jacob though. I HTH!! That's nice BTW.

Heismyopendoor · 20/11/2018 19:15

Yep Kate and William

MiriAmmerman · 20/11/2018 19:16

Louis Jacob is better I think - lovely, but much less royal.

Diddlysquats · 20/11/2018 19:17

Yes was thinking of the prince.

Alienspaceship · 20/11/2018 19:18

Beautiful Smile

Diddlysquats · 20/11/2018 19:18

Unusual choice of username though since you have children.

Diddlysquats My username was from when I had my first child a few years ago. I disappeared and came back again!

Is their baby called Louis Arthur? I like the name Arthur but I think Louis Jacob sound slightly better together.
But ultimately, your baby so your opinion is the important one!

BatF1nk · 20/11/2018 19:34

Would you really say 'Louis Arthur! Teas ready?' every single time?

mummyofboys30 · 20/11/2018 19:37

BatF1nk I would say with my older son I say first and middle name 75% time.

flighthelpneeded · 20/11/2018 19:38

I find it more odd and quite try hard that you tend to refer to them using both first and middle names. I know someone who nearly always refers to her dd using her first and surname and I can never get used to it. She was telling me "Jane Anderson here swam a whole length in swimming today!" .

mummyofboys30 · 20/11/2018 19:46

flighthelpneeded Wow...... I dont do it to "try hard", I do it because whats the point giving a child two names you like if you dont use them.

Messalena · 20/11/2018 19:46

I prefer Louis Arthur of the two, lovely name. I do think of the prince a little bit but that’s only because he was born this year. I bet most people will have forgotten his middle names in a few years. Just don’t add Charles!

userabcname · 20/11/2018 19:47

I prefer Louis Jacob but Louis Arthur is nice too - does sound royal-inspired though.

RedDwarves · 20/11/2018 20:00

Yes, I would think of the royals.

Shadow1234 · 20/11/2018 20:51

Prefer Louis Arthur (and did think of the royals for a fleeting millisecond).)

Sophronia · 20/11/2018 22:55

I often call my DS by his first and middle name too.

I like Louis Jacob. Louis Arthur does make me think of the Prince.

ZebraKid71 · 20/11/2018 23:02

Louis Jacob flows much better to my ears too, if you are going to be saying them out loud together.

NoBirthdayHugs · 20/11/2018 23:05

Louis Arthur would probably make me think of the royals, however if you switched it to Arthur Louis that would seem less royal to me. To my ears Arthur Louis sounds better too.

I would still think royals a bit with Louis Jacob, I think anything with Louis in reminds me of them since to me it’s a name I don’t know many people with in real life (unlike George/ Charlotte) so my only reference points are the prince and The Jungle Book orangutan. I prefer Jacob Louis personally. For some reason I just don’t think Louis works as a good first name when paired with a two-syllable middle name.

Thank you all for your help. So the short list I've whittled it down to two...... Louis and Rupert.
So do you think it would work combining my two favourite names and either having Louis Rupert or Rupert Louis? Many thanks.

Icklepup · 21/11/2018 11:18

Rupert Louis

Biddie191 · 21/11/2018 11:43

I'd be thinking of the Welsh athletics league - Although that is Louise Arthur, but I'm sure I'd be in the minority!

mummyofboys30 · 21/11/2018 17:55

Thank you. Anyone else?
Louis Rupert or Rupert Louis?

Bekabeech · 21/11/2018 18:09

Do you mean "Louee" or "Lewis"? The first prononciation flows better. But it is a tricky name as those two pronunciations are both very common.

mummyofboys30 · 21/11/2018 18:39

Im pronouncing it the correct way..... Looo-eee
