And whereabouts in the country are you and how old are they? Just trying to get a gist of how popular it is

I have a Ruby, she's the only one of 60 children in her year group. I also have a great nan Ruby. It's incredibly popular, I hear it a lot but my daughter likes it.

itisitis · 19/11/2018 22:09

She was also born on an Tuesday. I had no knowledge of the song Ruby Tuesday until my FIL had it tattooed on his back when she was born 🤷‍♀️🤢.

emwithme · 20/11/2018 00:24

SW England. 4 under 5, 1 over 80.

AlliKaneErikson · 20/11/2018 01:49

3 in DD class alone and many more besides!

AlliKaneErikson · 20/11/2018 01:50

Meant to add they’re 8-9 (yr 4). There are others who are younger and a number in yr 5&6. I also know a few in the secondary school. The oldest Ruby I know is in her 70s.

DramaAlpaca · 20/11/2018 01:52

One, an acquaintance's daughter who is in her early teens. I'm in Ireland. I love the name.

gotmybigbootson · 20/11/2018 02:05

My Nan.

LunaMay · 20/11/2018 02:07

Australia... I know 3. 4,9 and 22

Tadda · 20/11/2018 02:28

I'm guaging it's not that popular (up the charts) right now- I think it's a lovely girls name! (Due in a couple of weeks, just put on my list! I'm SW btw :) )

Birdie6 · 20/11/2018 03:19

My car. I always get red cars and call them Ruby. My current one is Ruby the Third.

Methvenie · 20/11/2018 13:58

Live in South East - know one sixth former called Ruby. Also have a friend with a 19 year old Ruby but they live in the NW.

daisypond · 20/11/2018 14:00

One in their 20s, two in their 30s. I'm in London. No younger ones. Nice name.

festivellama · 20/11/2018 14:00

I know two - one in her early teens, one in her early eighties. Both home counties.

Notveryadventurousname · 21/11/2018 16:46

Five in one year group and (in another circle), three in one sports team. All early secondary age - West Midlands.

TheOrigBrave · 21/11/2018 16:49

1 in DS2's class (age 9) and one woman who must be in her 60s I suppose.

Belindabauer · 21/11/2018 16:52

16, 10, 10, 9, 7, 5.

SixToEightInchesOfSnow · 21/11/2018 17:01

Loads of preschool and primary age. Am in the NW where it’s pronounced Rubeh...

Jenda · 21/11/2018 19:22

Thank you! this is wonderfully reassuring. I know it's popular but I don't want her to be one of three in a class! It's been my favourite name since forever and i've just found out I am having a girl!

Btw GREAT name for a staffie!!

My kids go to a large primary school in the South West and I can only think of one Ruby at school, aged 9. And we know one out of school too, aged 11. Lovely name!
