Thoughts? It's never really occured to me as an option until yesterday but I quite like it.

for a boy or a girl? i’ve heard it used for both, but prefer it for a boy.

Milliways · 19/11/2018 17:11

Lovely name, I know 2 but no babies recently.

CrystalBlaze · 19/11/2018 17:15

I'd say for a boy, @sunshineandshowers. I think it's lovely but not sure it flows very well with the middle name we want to use - Arthur.

Micah is lovely. Don't worry about middle names, they so rarely get used.

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 19/11/2018 18:20

Love it!

ChaosMoon · 19/11/2018 19:04

I love it CrystalBlaze. I kind of see what about Arthur but it's amazing what you get used to. And middle names aren't used often.

RedCoffins · 19/11/2018 19:06

My nephew is a Micah, it's lovely

papayya · 19/11/2018 19:07

What a beautiful name!

MissWilmottsGhost · 19/11/2018 19:08

I have only heard it as the character in the game of thrones book. Boy who gets killed everyone gets killed in GoT dont they?

Weird choice IMO.

CrystalBlaze · 19/11/2018 19:09

I love that everyone is a fan! Think it can go on the shortlist Smile

I like it

GreenDinosaur · 19/11/2018 19:44

Both great names but they don't flow very well next to each other.
Maybe choose a different middle name or if Arthur means a lot, put something in between?

GreenDinosaur · 19/11/2018 19:46

Eg. Micah Samuel Arthur Surname

ThanksItHasPockets · 19/11/2018 20:17

I like it a lot. If you like Micah you might also like Malachi.

CrystalBlaze · 19/11/2018 20:20

That's a good idea @GreenDinosaur. Am 17 weeks so have a while to ponder it.

greyspottedgoose · 19/11/2018 20:24

Is it my-cah or me-cah?

CrystalBlaze · 19/11/2018 20:31

I would pronounce it my-cah, @greyspottedgoose

OP posts:
greyspottedgoose · 19/11/2018 20:34

Then yes I love it 😍😍

Hosiesmum · 19/11/2018 21:41

I love it. But I do have an 8 week old Micah myself ;)

And I know another 4 of them under the age of 8. And a couple of older ones (30s).

I agree with your my-cah pronunciation, and would never have thought it could be pronounced any other way, but in his short little life our Micah has been called Mee-cah, Mish-a, Mee-sha, Mitch-ah... every heathcare provider that he's met has got it wrong, pretty much!

Once people have heard me say it they seem to be OK with it, and we've had a number of compliments on it, but if they're reading it, it is apparently not a familiar name to most people - if that will bother you, avoid the name! But it's such a lovely name :)

FogCutter · 19/11/2018 21:55

Lovely name!

Mercedes519 · 19/11/2018 21:58

The only thing would be the pronunciation. I know one and it’s my-cah but loads of people call him mee-cah which could get annoying?

Thetigerwhocameto · 19/11/2018 23:43

@Hosiesmum it must be a thing with healthcare providers, we’ve had some hilarious pronunciations of Niamh at our doctors surgery.

Op my first thought was Micah Richards the footballer who always seemed to be pronounced a little more like Mi-cah than My-cah (at least that’s what my cloudy memory is telling me)

OutPinked · 21/11/2018 17:05

It’s my step-father’s name, I like it.

TheMagician · 21/11/2018 17:07

I don't like it at all.

Thiswayorthatway · 21/11/2018 17:11

Micah Richards played for Man City I think.
