Just wondering how popular this name really is (Arlo), whether you know any and what you think of it please? Baby arriving in two weeks and really stuck for a name!

Bing’s Cat

I think it’s going to be very 2018!

mummabubs · 14/11/2018 12:17

I really like it (we went with an unusual name for DS who's now 1). I also think of Bing's cat but that's not a good or bad thing! I'd honestly say go with whatever name you fall in love with OP. 😊

llangennith · 14/11/2018 12:19

Lovely name but it's very popular.

WerewolfNumber1 · 14/11/2018 12:20

I know 3 aged 3 and under (London), it is pretty popular.

ShotsFired · 14/11/2018 12:22

Hugely trendy and "now".

JupiterDrops · 14/11/2018 12:26

I know 3 born in the last 6 months.

We also loved it when our son was born (2 years ago) but we're worried it was too popular then so I'm so relieved we didn't go for it given how popular it is now!

Sidandbump · 14/11/2018 12:45

Lovely name. I don't know any so I think it is down to area. It does say 'modern' to me but I think it will stick around.

Sophronia · 14/11/2018 13:11

Very trendy. How about Jago if you like names ending in o?

daisypond · 14/11/2018 13:26

I know two under the age of two. I think it's nice, but it is "trendy", I agree. Ivo?

SuperstarDJ · 14/11/2018 17:51

I quite like it and haven’t come across one in any of the baby/toddler groups I go to. The boys names of the moment in my neck of the woods seem to be Freddy, Jude, Milo, Theo, Harry and Jacob. Have come across loads of those!

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 14/11/2018 17:54

It’s a bit hipster, but sound quite nice. Makes me think of Arlo Guthrie, Woody’s son.

My friend liked it but went for Arthur in the end.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 14/11/2018 17:59

It's very trendy but a lovely name. Perhaps Otto or Inigo if you want something a bit more unusual?

Zimbabwebadgers · 14/11/2018 18:04

It was the 42nd most popular name last year. It has massively risen over the past few years. However, I've never come across any it's all Alexanders and Tobys where I live (the latter which is statistically less common than Arlo)

We know 2.
Nice name.

Cactus3 · 14/11/2018 19:16

Lovely 🙂

PetraRabbit · 14/11/2018 22:50

I know two under two. Don't look at current popularity, look at how much a name has speeded up the name charts. It's a very rapidly rising name and it has all the typical sounds that are trendy now (ends in 'o'; could sound surnamey; starts with 'a'; 4 letters) so my prediction is that it's headed straight for the top 10. I would use it if you'd also use Noah and not be bothered by the popularity. It is a nice name so if you love it regardless go for it.

Redskyandrainbows67 · 14/11/2018 22:52

I know 3 but it’s a nice name!

justforthisnow · 14/11/2018 22:56

It's the name of our security camera company, so no from me. www.arlo.com

Wolfiefan · 14/11/2018 22:58

Sounds like Harlow. In Essex. No from me.

SheisMammyof2 · 14/11/2018 23:00

Lovely name. I only know one - a 6yo.

GraceMarks · 15/11/2018 13:28

I know of two toddler Arlos within my immediate friendship group. I personally dislike it and think it sounds more like a longlife milk firm, but then I'm not a big fan of names ending in "o" in general so it could just be me...

3in4years · 15/11/2018 19:12

Arlo
Enzo
Otto
Otis
Ellis
Idris
Milo

All the baby boys seem to have these 2 syllable, vowelly names these days. I can never remember which is which.

Nutbutter · 15/11/2018 19:14

Add Ezra to 3in4years’ list!

I know 2 arlos under 2 - think it’s really popular

OneTwistedAngel · 15/11/2018 19:30

I know 1 Arlo who is about 7 months old. I think its a nice name. It's grown in popularity the last couple of years but isn't overly popular imo
