Just in case you thought it was only the UK that went in for 'youneeq' spellings....,

I'm staggered at the amount of ways you can spell Madison....

😂😂😂

Cosmoa · 06/11/2018 11:32

And Madeline 😂 here's me thinking there was just Madeline/Madeleine

JanetBonnet · 06/11/2018 11:34

😂 She has Rhiannon in there though - that’s not ‘yooniq’; it’s the correct spelling of a beautiful Welsh name.

cheesefield · 06/11/2018 11:41

Aw, bit mean of her. But holy shit those are some horrific spellings.

Cosmoa · 06/11/2018 12:28

I agree it's a bit mean and invasive, especially when she mentions the twins!

2128Cl · 06/11/2018 12:43

Meh

ChaosMoon · 06/11/2018 15:09

These are hilarious. Do we think Braxton's DM had a really uncomfortable pregnancy? 😂

NorthernRunner · 06/11/2018 15:12

God that gave me a right headache to read. I don’t understand the desire to find new ways to spell names, if you like the name just spell it the correct way! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
How do you pronounce Atylee?
And Tayxa? 🤔

starkid · 06/11/2018 15:45

Rhiannon is a random addition to her list, I agree. She must not have heard of it and presumed it was weird and made-up
How big is this school by the way, if this lot are all in one year? Are they joined by any Daniel's or Sophie's, or is this it? Haha

They are pretty out there though. Shout out to Keyairaa.

CrookedMe · 06/11/2018 15:47

Gambit 😱

JanetBonnet · 06/11/2018 21:59

I love Aroarin.

Sounds like a lion’s answer to the question ‘What are you doing?’

DeusEx · 06/11/2018 22:04

Yeah she’s a dick.

Didyeeaye · 06/11/2018 22:23

Baby name scrabble had me LMAO

RedDwarves · 07/11/2018 08:20

Poor Rhiannon.

The rest are something else.

hulabaloo · 07/11/2018 08:36

I don’t understand the desire to find new ways to spell names,

Every single name was once made up.

Spellings evolve and Catherine became Kathryn or Stephen Steven etc.

It's not that shocking!

Miscible · 07/11/2018 08:46

If you enacted a law in that area that said you aren't allowed to use the letter "y" in a name, there would be a 100% increase in the use of normal spellings.

It is a very mean thing to tweet though.

AmericanHousewifefan · 08/11/2018 08:25

Where did my at JaneBonnets* comment* go?

AmericanHousewifefan · 08/11/2018 08:27

All my smiley faces have disappeared! There was meant to be 3 grins. Must be something wrong with my app or phone.

JanetBonnet · 08/11/2018 13:40

But then you’d end up with names like Emily and Hayley being spelt Emileigh and Haileigh.

Maybe you’d even get Lileigh (Lily).

StateofIndependance · 08/11/2018 13:50

Spellings used to evolve. Before mass literacy, printing presses etc. They are now standardised. Although clearly not in everyone's eyes.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 10/11/2018 08:23

SO. MANY. Ys!!! Why so many Ys?

LOVING Toj and Gambit 🤣🤣

BendydickCuminsnatch · 10/11/2018 08:25

All the parents and kids are going to haaaaaate that woman though, hope her kid has finished school and she’s moving in a week 😄

Yeah I thought the same, a really nice Welsh name. Guess it's not big over there. There's also a Kayleigh which I think is nice and afaik is the 'normal' spelling of it.

I hate American names with a passion because they come out with crap like this. No doubt there will be some British kids with these names in about 10 or so. I laughed at the names of the kids spelt like it sounds (like Maddyson). Think I might call my son Christufer or Richud.

mathanxiety · 10/11/2018 09:01

Utah names are notorious.

wesclark.com/ubn/females.html Girl names.

wesclark.com/ubn/males.html Boy names.

Not all of the names in the lists ^^ would mark out the bearers as Mormons, but most would. Rhiannon is familiar from the Fleetwood Mac song and used all over the US, though very unusual. Kayleigh has been popular for years all over the US.
Utah is in America but not necessarily representative Smile.
