I love short names! I especially love two-syllable names that can also be shortened into an even shorter nickname :) Right now my favorite is Hazel, shortened into Haze, but I'm open to suggestions. What are yours?? 😍

Have I pronouncing Maeve incorrectly? I thought it rhymed with ‘pave’?

I also thought Maeve was pronounced like pave with one syllable.

wildewillow · 06/11/2018 07:35

Maeve is one syllable. It is pronounced rhyming with pave, like maayv.
Also Cecily is 3 syllables Ce-cil-ee

Both very beautiful names though!

(^ front runners for hypothetical DD1, DH and I are at an impasse, but I’ve got dibs this time around Grin )
Irene
Ines (I actually like Inessa more, but that’s not 2 syllables)
Clara
I looove Alla, which is a Russian name with two syllables pronounced Al-lah, but it would never work in the U.K.

All girls names from me today, I’m afraid!
