Thanks!

I think so.

CaptSkippy · 02/11/2018 15:57

Well they are both plants.

Shadow1234 · 02/11/2018 16:00

It wouldnt bother me tbh. Lots of people have 'themes' going on with names. Middle names are rarely used anyway, so she will be known mainly as Ivy.

LarkDescending · 02/11/2018 16:08

Yes.

Ivy Jessamine would make it less obvious, perhaps?

Ilovewillow · 02/11/2018 16:09

No lovely - we have a willow lily and never felt it was too 'nature'!

LeeMiller · 02/11/2018 16:53

I think so, but I'm a gardener. Especially as they're both climbers.

InfantaSybilla · 02/11/2018 16:56

Yes. They also sound like names of candles and air fresheners. Sorry

Floralnomad · 02/11/2018 16:58

It is a bit however if you need to drop one drop the Ivy , Jasmine is lovely .

DaisyChainsForever · 02/11/2018 16:59

Is Jasmine just a middle name? If so I think it's fine. If your plans on calling her Ivy-Jasmine I think it's a bit too much.

DaisyChainsForever · 02/11/2018 17:00

*you plan - no idea how that slipped in!

PhilODox · 02/11/2018 17:04

Is Plant your surname?
How are people going to hear her middle name?

starkid · 02/11/2018 17:13

I don't think so, for some reason I don't often think of Jasmine as a plant (I know it is though, but my first thought is of a name)

LassWiADelicateAir · 02/11/2018 22:43

Yes. Jasmine is pretty. Ivy is awful. It's an Edward Ian servant's name.

TatianaLarina · 03/11/2018 07:41

No, but I’d put Jasmine first - much pretty plant and name. Ivy’s a bit grim.

donkeysandzebras · 03/11/2018 07:47

Too "planty" IMO and (and this might sound even odder) they're not plants that go together, both being climbers but suited to different conditions, so I find the name clashes too.

bridgetreilly · 03/11/2018 12:33

I think it's fine, tbh. They are both commonly used names, not just random plants.

RavenWings · 03/11/2018 13:11

Very planty imo. I wouldn't do it, or I'd put another name in between.

Raydan · 03/11/2018 23:01

Very planty

AlphaNumericalSequence · 03/11/2018 23:11

Definitely too planty. But you could make it less planty by telling everyone that the Jasmine bit was because you like Chinese tea.

2128Cl · 03/11/2018 23:16

Yeah. Jasmine is nicer than Ivy!
