Prudence

A woman from my antenatal class has named her baby Prudence. I can't decide if I like it or not! What do you think?

Not for me - it was always the name of the spiteful, un-decent girl in Enid Blyton stories.

It does also remind me of Kath and Kim though, and that's not a bad thing.

Charming name. Prue for short is good too.

Yes - Summer Term! There was also a horrible Prudence in The Family at Red Roofs.

Terrible name. Sounds like she's going to pop out of the womb with a knitted sweater, shabby grey skirt and a penchant for keeping her handkerchief in her sleeve. Easy to take the piss out of on the playground. Yuck.

I thought of prudence from St Claires also. Not a name I'm fond of.

Such a dull virtue: prudence. It colours the name for me.

I adore Pru. Not madly keen on Prudence but I'd happily use it for Pru.

I think it’s really pretty but I wouldn’t choose it myself. (You’d have to be either v posh or hippyish to do so IMO!)
