Shortlist for girls...

We are team yellow with our third baby and I'm finding it so tricky to choose a name. Our two other boys have white traditional and popular names and we would like something a little different for this one. Our shortlist for boys names is: Arlo, Charlie (popular I know) and Rafferty shortened to Raffy. Would like to know what you think of these and if you have any other suggestions too? Thanks!

Ps. I can't seem to change the tittle of this post so that it say shortlist for boys! Also can't delete the post. Am using the app!

I prefer Raphael to Rafferty. Rafferty always makes me think of the charming cad characters that the actor Terry Thomas used to play in old films Confused

I like Charles, but really dislike Charlie.

Do you like Benedict, Dominic or Nathan?

What does team yellow mean? Does white traditional names refer to ethnicity or is it related to team yellow. I’m very confused!

Picknickers · 28/10/2018 22:51

Did you mean quite instead of white? I hope so!

I think team yellow means they have not found out the sex.

OP I love Rafferty (although I do not really like Raffy) and Arlo.

Charlie is nice but I cannot feel it's been over-used for the past 20 years...

Thanks for the feedback. Team yellow means we haven't found out what gender we are having. Maybe it's a bit dated to say that but i thought it was a common description!

Oops and yes I did mean 'quite' instead of white!!! Wish I knew how to edit my posts via app?

If you want something different, Arlo, Charles and Rafferty all seem quite common in these parts, the first two in particular. I don't like Rafferty used as a first name, to be honest -- I think it has a slightly silly, bouncy sound to it, though it's an entirely ordinary surname.

AllSouls - I'm not sure about Rafferty either but my husband likes it the most. The popularity of the name Charlie does put us off a bit, though I like the name. Arlo might be the best option for us as it isn't as popular as our other two boy's names but not too unusual either. Agggh! Thanks for the feedback though :)

I love Rafferty - it’s so fab! I’d use it but I have a Rafe Smile
